Sagging Crawl Space Repair in Whitmire, SC

This homeowner had been dealing with sunken, and bouncy for years before they decided to call us. These issues were caused by none other than a sagging crawl space, or more specifically sagging floor joists. This is not a new or uncommon problem that we run into here at All-Dry, it is actually we something we saw on a weekly basis. It is certainly an important issue that needs to be looked at and fixed sooner, rather than later.

The "before" picture shows what our crew was working with under the home. The clearance is quite low, especially considering our crew needed to dig an area out for each of the SmartJacks. Since the angle is so low and the floor joists weren't bowing too much, it is difficult to actually see the bend on the board. This is the same area that one of the five jacks will be installed in.

In the "after" picture, the installed SmartJack can be seen very easily. The hole has been dug for the jack to sit down in to properly support this part of the home. As mentioned earlier, five SmartJacks were installed to support this area, which was just enough to keep this homeowner from having to worry about a sagging, bouncy, and sunken floor.

CarbonArmor Fabric Strips

Keeping your basement foundation strong is very important. If your basement walls begin to bow or crack it can lead to severe damage to your home. In this Brevard, NC home the basement walls had begun to bow in. To solve this problem the All-Dry of the Carolinas team was able to install CarbonArmor strips. This CarbonArmor system is a fiber reinforced polymer that is 10 times stronger than steel. The system is extremely flexible and can be used easily against all basement walls. This strip absorbs the pressure that is pushing out from the wall. Along with all the foundation benefits, the CarbonArmor strips are easier to paint and are easily concealable.

Cherokee, NC Home Gets Foundation Settlement Corrected with Push Piers

An issue that we commonly encounter are cracks throughout a foundation. Usually these are smaller cracks, but every once and awhile we get a home that has some pretty serious foundation issues, like this home. As you can see in the before picture, the entire corner of this home was sinking, and pretty significantly. The widest crack is close to an inch wide, which may not seem like much, but for the foundation that supports your home, this is a big deal.

In order to fix this issue, our Systems Design Specialist suggested the homeowner go with a couple of push piers to help bring this corner back towards its original position. The homeowner agreed to get the push piers installed, because he knew how serious this issue could be if left unchecked. Since the settlement was only occurring in this back part of the home, this project only needed two push piers.

The second picture shows the same corner, but after the push piers were installed, and the job was completely finished. As you can see, the crack has been pushed back together and looks completely normal. The great thing about push piers are that, when installed, they are completely covered. This is the perfect example of how we like to work, we want our work to give you all of the benefits of a great system, without having to see it!

Crack Repair on Greenville, SC Driveway Using Nexus Pro

Nexus Pro is a newer product that we have been using more recently. It is an excellent solution to sealing cracks in outdoor, concrete foundations like driveways. On this particular project, the driveway began cracking because the earth under it was shifting, which was causing cracks in both the driveway and the retaining wall. Our crew used wall anchors in order to prevent any further shifting.

However, there is no good way to get rid of the cracks other than to replace the entire driveway, or do some concrete patchwork. These are both bad ideas because to replace the entire driveway would be expensive, and to do patchwork, you would still run the risk of it cracking. Therefore, the best option for this homeowner was to use Nexus Pro. While it doesn't make the cracks disappear, but rather seals them.

As you can see in the after photo, the Nexus Pro makes quite a difference and helps to protect the driveway. It is unlike other sealants in that it resists drying out, bubbling, and cracking. It is a much longer lasting product than other sealants. Once the Nexus Pro completely dries, it is duller and isn't as noticeable as it is in the second photo.

Foundation Repair in Simpsonville, SC

This homeowner had some very serious cracking on the side of their home. While these two photos show one of the more severe cracks on the home, it certainly was not the only area that needed some foundation support. As you may imagine, having large cracks in your home can be dangerous and very expensive if not taken care of quickly. To help get the home back to a more level and stable place, we use our Push piers, which are driven deep into the ground and help to raise the foundation, essentially pushing the home back together. Once back together, the crack is filled with mortar to seal it up.

In the "before" photo you can see that this crack was not small or could have easily been looked over. It was a huge crack that definitely needed to be taken care of. A majority of the crack is about an inch wide, while some parts (towards the top left) are almost two inches wide.

The "after" photo shows the difference that the push piers made in raising and leveling the foundation. The great thing about push piers are that, not only do they help to get the foundation to a level place, but they will not settle like foundation (which is the cause of the problem in the first place). So the push piers help correct the problem, then prevent the problem from reoccurring.
