Water Soaking Through Brevard, NC Basement Walls Gets Interior Drainage System

Basements suffering from water intrusion is something that we see every week here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. Sometimes these can be just a small amount of water, however sometimes basements can have a huge amount of water getting into them. This home was somewhere in between, water wasn't completely flooding in but there was also not a small trickle.

The before picture gives a great look at one of the areas that the water was coming through. This wall was backed up against the side of a hill which was where a significant part of the water was coming through. The water in the ground began to soak through the block foundation, and would get even worse when the area would have heavy rains. This would be a difficult problem to solve from the outside, but our interior drainage can handle this easily!

The after photo shows the same area after our interior drainage system was installed. The two products that can be seen in this picture is the CleanSpace Wall and the WaterGuard Drain. There was also a SuperSump pump system was installed in order to pump the water out and away from the home. All of these products work together in order to provide a system that keeps the basement dry. The CleanSpace Wall catches any water that comes through the wall and drains it down to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is installed in such a way that it angles down towards the sump pump.

This system has been installed thousands of times over the past 27 years and has been proven as an effective way to prevent water intrusion and damage in a basement. If you believe you are having similar problems and would be interested in a system like this, please contact us today! Aprilaire and CleanSpace Give Brevard, NC Crawlspace the Perfect Solution

Unique cases are often some of our favorites here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. This Brevard, North Carolina home had a crawlspace and basement combination. The crawlspace area (depicted here) had a liner pulled tight against the dirt floor. It had this liner, but it was not contributing to the overall protection of the home. It was thin, and not completely reliable. While it covered the majority of the dirt floor, it was not secured. There was no single sheet. The liner was a collection of sheets haphazardly banded together. It couldn’t really be trusted.

What’s the solution?

CleanSpace, our patented liner, and an Aprilaire dehumidifier are the tried and true solution. The CleanSpace provides the perfect barrier from the earth, while the dehumidifier removes all moisture from the air. There has never been a more perfect team.

Basement in Hartwell, GA Gets a Makeover with WaterGuard, BrightWall, and a SuperSump

This basement in Hartwell, Georgia was having some pretty serious water intrusion issues. There was a significant amount of water coming in, which was worrying the homeowner who called after he began to notice it. Fortunately, this homeowner did not wait too long before calling us to come look at the problem. We were able to send a Systems Design Specialist out to the home to figure out the best course of action!

In order to help this homeowner solve the water issues in their basement, our Specialist inspected the basement, took pictures, and began working on a solution. The solution that he came up with included; BrightWall Paneling, our WaterGuard Drain, and a SuperSump Pump system. While this may not seem like much, these three products work together in such a way that will help keep water out of the basement.

The difference between these two photos is pretty incredible, and it was done in just a few days. The first photo shows one of the corners in this basement that has water all over the floor, and several feet up the wall, whereas the after photo looks much better. The finished product is one step closer to becoming a finished/semi-finished basement. Not only does it look better, but this homeowner doesn't have to worry about water hanging around anymore.

Hartwell, GA Crawlspace Replaces Old Liner with New CleanSpace

It’s difficult to maintain a crawlspace when it’s not a space we often frequent. Unlike a basement, this area isn’t usually used for storage or recreation. Because of that, the space falls into disuse and any problems it has are swept beneath the rug until they begin to affect the rest of the home. It always happens like this. Now that doesn’t mean that there’s anyone to blame, it only means that this is bound to occur. It just is. Water Issues will arise as long as the dirt floor is exposed and the walls are porous.

Take a look at our “before” photo, this is a prime example of a crawlspace that is afflicted with moisture issues. The walls are stained with efflorescence and the floors are barely covered by the thin sheet of plastic. It was a valiant effort by the homeowners to attempt to rectify this problem, but that sheet simply wasn’t good enough.

The problem no longer exists in the “after” photo. In this photo, we’ve cleared out the problem. The entirety of the crawlspace is covered by our CleanSpace plastic liner. This liner is far superior to the original liner in the crawlspace. It is 20mils thick, and reinforced with polyester cords. This cording makes it nearly impossible to rip or tear the fabric. Also in this photo, there is the SuperSump pump that catches the any potential water the space may experience due to flooding or heavy rains.

This Hartwell, Georgia crawlspace has never looked better.

WaterGuard and SuperSump Installed in Alexander, NC Basement with Water Intrusion

Water intrusion is an issue that we have seen since the very beginning of our business. This home was proof that water problems in basements are not going anywhere. Unfortunately, this is a reality that too many have to face. However, there is a relatively simple, and effective way to keep water out of the basement.

This home had been plagued with water intrusion and all of the problems that go along with it for awhile. The problems started to get worse, so they finally made a few calls, which led them to us. They set up an appointment with one of our Systems Design Specialist, who was able to visit the home and figure out exactly what was needed to keep water out of their basement. In order to prevent water intrusion and a high humidity level in the basement, our Specialist suggested our WaterGuard Drain, SuperSump Pump System, and a dehumidifier to help with the humidity level.

Once our crew got to the house a few weeks later, they immediately began working. They began by removing a few inches of concrete floor near the wall, as well as a hole for the sump pump. The SuperSump pump system was then installed and the crew began to work on the discharge line. Meanwhile, the WaterGuard drain was being installed in the "trench" that was cut out for it. Once everything was installed, the crew mixed up some concrete so that the WaterGuard and area around the sump pump could be covered, making it seem like nothing ever happened.

Our purpose for each job is to provide a solution to every issue that a homeowner may have, while also trying to leave as little of a footprint as possible. We want to fix your home, while making as few changes as possible.
