This picture shows a close up of WaterGuard, and is a pretty good picture to explain how it works. It is basically a special drain that is installed into the floor (so it is less invasive), that collects the water and drains it to a sump pump. If you look closely, there is a small gap between the wall and "floor"/drain. This gap is there to catch the water as it comes through the wall and runs towards the floor. The water then drains to the sump pump.
