This homeowner in Columbia, SC was encountering water issues in their basement. To solve this issue, our team installed a WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system to prevent water seepage permanently. WaterGuard is a system that intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it concealed and safely into the SumpPump where it is then flushed from the basement. CleanSpace Wall System was also installed on the walls to create an effective vapor barrier.
Our crew encapsulated this crawl space using CleanSpace for a customer located in Eastover, SC.
This crawlspace went through a huge transformation in just a matter of a few days. The crawlspace started off as a somewhat scary-looking, dark, damp place and ended up looking like a place you may want to stay a few minutes. The owners knew that there was water in the crawlspace, but thought it could be taken care of by just an old sump pump. While this can certainly help, there are a lot of unaddressed issues at hand like; how is the water going to get to the sump pump, what about evaporation?
This is why our system is the best solution for crawlspace waterproofing. It takes all of the concerns and questions that may arise with water and moisture in a crawlspace and addresses them. Our CleanSpace liner helps to separate the crawlspace from the ground in order to keep the majority of the moisture out. Our sump pump has an airtight liner which means that once the water in in the liner it isn't getting out of there unless its through the discharge!
Crawlspaces are often the most forgotten part of a home (and yes, they are a part of the home), because they are under everything. Very rarely do homeowners visit this area and because of this a lot of things can be missed. Years of moist, humid conditions under this home led to a crawlspace full of moldy piles of insulation, insects, and even some rodents. This was extremely unfortunate for the homeowner, but our System Design Specialist knew our company would be able to help them out!
This crawlspace went through an incredible transformation with the installation of the CleanSpace liner. Our crew went in and removed all of the debris that was under the home, and once this was done, the crew went on to install the CleanSpace. CleanSpace does a great job at really separating the crawlspace from the ground, which is what really makes the difference in this system.
Crawlspaces can get quite messy sometimes, there is usually not very much room but a lot of things to fit under the house. At the very least, most crawlspaces have plumbing, some electrical wiring, internet/cable lines, and sometimes even more! This doesn't seem like a lot, but when the crawlspace is just a couple feet tall it strarts to get crowded in there. However, even these tight, crowded crawlspaces need to be encapsulated, so our crews figure out a way!
Even though this crawlspace was pretty tight and very crowded, our crew was able to install the CleanSpace just as professionally as a three or four foot crawlspace would be done. The CleanSpace is installed as tight as possible and still sealed around the edges of the crawlspace and anywhere a something goes through the CleanSpace, like the PVC pipe that can be seen in these photos.
