Sump Pump Discharge Line Installed in Columbia, SC Home

One of the most important parts of an installation of our system is making sure that the water is pumped out of the home and far enough away that it won't get back to the home. Sometimes this may be just a few feet and sometimes this can be a few dozen feet. In this homeowner's case, it was the latter of the two.

This discharge line can be seen in the first photo. As you can see, the discharge line comes from around the side of the home, through the front yard, and to a bed in the front of the home. This may seem excessive, but because of where the home was built this was the closest area that the water would not run back towards the home. Our crews only remove what they need so that the impact that they leave is as limited as possible.

The photo that was taken after the crew was packed up and about to head home was much different then earlier. They do such a great job making everywhere that they work look like almost no work has been done. In this case, the area of grass that had been removed cannot really be seen. One of our goals is to solve your problems, while keeping our footprint as small as possible. The crew did a great job of this for this homeowner!

Columbia, SC Homeowner Has New Waterproofing System and SuperSump Installed in Basement

Sump pumps are an important part of the majority of the systems that we install. Sump pumps are important because they are how the water actually gets pumped outside and away from the home. There are several different ways to install sump pumps, but we find that the sump systems that we use are the best!

The first photo shows off the sump pump set-up that the homeowner had before our company had come out. While they were definitely ahead of the game by actually having a sump pump, there were still many things that needed to be improved upon. Having an open sump liner allows for moisture to escape and get back into the basement.

The "after" photo shows our SuperSump pump system with our UltraSump Battery back-up. Our sump system includes an airtight lid with a WaterWatch Alarm, which helps to alert the homeowner if the pumps are not turning on or if there is water on top of the lid. This homeowner also decided to have an UltraSump installed, which provides a battery back-up in case of a power outage. They loved their new sump system and basement waterproofing!

Settling Foundation in Columbia, SC is Corrected with Push Piers

Unfortunately, settlement is something that we see pretty regularly. Settlement occurs when the soil under and around the home begins to shift, causing the foundation that is built on it to shift as well. This is usually not a quick process and a building will start with smaller cracks, but the more time that passes, the worse the cracks will get. Fortunately we have a system that works extremely well and lifting and supporting a building's foundation.

This home had extensive settling on one side of the home, and a small area of foundation cracking in another part of the home. The majority of the push piers were installed around one wall and its adjacent walls. The before photo shows one pretty significant crack in the foundation and several smaller cracks throughout the rest of the photo. These were the beginning of larger cracks that would eventually come.

Fortunately we were able to solve this problem before those cracks got any worse. Just a couple weeks after the initial call, our crew was able to get out to the home, install the push piers and lift this home back towards its original position. In the photo, you can actually see the push pier that does all of the heavy lifting (literally). You can also see that the crack has been corrected and sealed up!

WaterGuard and SuperSump Installed in Columbia, SC Unfinished Basement

Basements, even partially finished ones, need to be protected from water problems. This Columbia, South Carolina basement in particular would experience water trickling into it periodically. This wouldn’t be a huge problem if the owners weren’t using the space for storage, which, of course, they were. The owners wanted a system that would both capture the water and remove it from the space entirely.

The perfect solution was to install our patented SuperSump pump and WaterGuard drain system. The WaterGuard collects the water out of sight and then deposits it into the SuperSump pump. Both systems are installed below the floor and then covered with cement. Only the lid and the pipes are visible on the SuperSump.

The installation of these products will insure that the basement no longer suffers from leaking water.

Columbia, SC Crawlspace Decked in CleanSpace and SuperSump Solution

Dreary crawlspaces are as unwelcoming as a wet floor sign. Often they are dark. Often they are humid. Often they are littered with specks of water and the scattered remnants of debris. They are all the same and yet a little different. This crawlspace needed professional help. We know this because the owner always noticed a musty smell and flooding whenever it rained. As you can imagine, this could be quite the nuisance.

Something needed to be done. And this Columbia, South Carolina crawlspace was ready for the solution.

Judging by this “after” photo, we’ve done just that. Not only is the area wrapped neatly in our patented CleanSpace liner, but we’ve also installed one of our best SuperSump pumps. To the right of it is a trusty dehumidifier designed to dry out the air.
