Water intrusion is a bad thing no matter where it happens in a home. This home happened to have this problem in their finished basement. If left unchecked, water intrusion can do some major damage including rot and mold. This can be especially bad when these things actually happen in the home, like this customer's case. Fortunately for them, they had not let it get to the point of rot or mold. They were more preemptive in this case and called us before too much damage was done.
The "before" photo shows the area just before we installed our products. We have to cut out and remove the drywall partially up the wall in order to install our CleanSpace Wall, which helps to direct and drain water to our Waterguard drain that we also installed.
The "after" picture shows what the (almost) finished product looks like. You can see the area behind the insulation that has been covered with the CleanSpace liner that was just mentioned. The dark area of concrete is where the Waterguard was installed. It drains down to the sump pump where any collected water is then pumped out of the basement.
This home's basement had a lot of water intrusion through their basement walls, floors, but mainly from this doorway leading into the basement from the outside. This is a common point of entry and if the proper precautions are not taken around these problem areas, then water will more than likely get into the basement. This customer actually had a sump pump around this area, but because there was so much water, the sump wasn't able to handle it all.
The "before" picture shows what the customer was dealing with as an entrance to their basement. There really isn't all that much here besides the concrete with a little bit of a slope to it and a small sump pump to the left-hand side of the photo, just where that mesh is. All in all, this does not provide all that much protection for the basement.
The "after" photo shows a huge difference in protection for this basement. There are several lines of defense now! The first one we have is the drain right in front of the door, so that before the water even has a chance to make it into the basement it gets taken care of. Then we have the SuperSump sump pump, which is able to pump 2,650 gallons of water per hour. Last but not least, if those two fail, we have another small backup that was installed inside the basement, called WaterGuard. While the WaterGuard won't contain huge amounts of water pouring in, it will catch a small flow of water, which would more than likely be the case.
Crawlspaces are often not taken advantage of nearly as much as they should be. This crawlspace ended up being a trash dump for rocks, tubing, and just about anything else. Unfortunately a lot of crawlspaces look very similar to this one before it had CleanSpace installed. Crawlspaces are a huge part of your home and have great uses, like a ton of extra storage, but many people don't realize the potential for it.
This homeowner was having issues with too much moisture in their crawlspace, which is why they initially had one of our System Design Specialist out to the home who recommend a SmartSump Pumping System as part of the solution . However, once our crew came out to the home and rolled out the CleanSpace, the homeowner realized the potential that they had with this "new" crawlspace. While they were certainly excited that the moisture problem had been taken care of, they were also excited that they had a new area of the home to use!
This homeowner in Clinton needed some work done in the crawl space. Fortunately they caught the problem before any major damage was done. This customer went all out in the products they decided to have installed. They were educated on the dangers of a wet or damp crawl space, and all of the problems it could cause in the future. The main products they installed were the SantaFe Dehumidifier, SmartSump Pump system, and CleanSpace Liner and drainage matting. The combination of these products really provides great protection and prevention of problems later on.
The "before" photo shows an area of the basement before we had installed our products. While the picture is a little dark, you can see the old liner, which does not offer much protection at all. Towards the back of the picture, you can see fallen insulation, which is a sign of moisture in the crawl space.
The "after" photo shows a much more pleasant area to be in and look at. This is the same area as before. The biggest difference is just how bright it is, the white, reflective surface is great when you (or any repairmen) are working under your home. We just wish all of the benefits were as obvious as the physical look of CleanSpace! The benefits that you can't see (at least not at first) include the decrease and sometimes complete elimination of moisture under your home, decreased heating and cooling costs, and several more!

This homeowner called All-Dry of the Carolinas when they started noticing a strange smell in their crawlspace. Unfortunately, this is an extremely common sign of a high humidity level in the crawlspace. This crawlspace was not in too bad of shape, but it had enough moisture coming from the ground and walls that they needed some type of system to take care of the problem.
Our Systems Design Specialist, Alex Rogers, went out to this home just a few days after they called, to get a better look at the area and really determine what kind of system this family needed to make their crawlspace happy and healthy. This system included 3-inch drain tile, a SmartSump pump, a dehumidifier, and of course CleanSpace liner. This homeowner got the full CleanSpace encapsulation!
The difference between these two photos is incredible, both physically and functionally. The most obvious difference between the before and after pictures is the CleanSpace that was installed. It completely changes the look of the area, but it also provides a great service. The CleanSpace (along with the rest of the products) keep the moisture out of the crawlspace so that the family doesn't have to worry about this anymore!
