Even if you get your crawlspace sealed from top to bottom with every bell and whistle imaginable, there’s still a chance you’ll have moisture issues if you do not properly seal the crawlspace entrance. This Simpsonville, SC homeowner discovered this fact very soon. Simply having a door doesn’t mean the space is secure. The equivalent of having a wooden door on a crawlspace is very much like installing a front door without a lock in the waterproofing world. Wooden doors, especially since they’re so low to the ground, will rot and warp. And once it has starting doing all of that, it won’t even seal properly. Now all that trouble you went to seal the space was all for nothing.

Take a look at the “Before” photo. The door is quite obviously wood. We know that. But around the door there are these skinny spaces. Normally, we wouldn’t bat an eye at something like that. However, since it’s a crawlspace, this is enough of an opening to cause an issue.

Now if we take a look at the “After” photo, we can see the major difference. This one completely seals the space from incoming air. Not only that, but, because it’s plastic, it won’t rot or wear. It doesn’t need paint and bugs won’t have a taste for it. The difference is as clear as night and day. Our Everlast Door is the way to go.

Our All-Dry crew was able to install a series of our waterproofing technology that would take care of the water issue in the crawlspace. Our crew installed a CleanSpace liner, sump pump, and dehumidifier. When encapsulating the crawlspace with CleanSpace, it seals the area to keep moisture from creeping up from the ground and causing damage to your foundation.   A dehumidifier was placed in the crawlspace as a solution to the humidity that is produced from the pipes under your house. A SumpPump is to flush out entering water and excess water from the dehumidifier from the crawlspace. Together with all these tools, the crawlspace is completely protected from moisture.

Job Stories From Simpsonville, SC
Moisture Issues in Simpsonville, SC Crawlspace Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation

High humidity levels seem like they are almost a fact of life, especially down here where All-Dry of the Carolinas is located. If you're from the Carolinas or Georgia, you already know what we're talking about. This high humidity level outside can also affect the humidity level under a home, especially when the crawlspace vents are open/not sealed. Fortunately we know the best way to fix these humidity issues.

This crawlspace in Simpsonville, South Carolina was beginning to have some serious issues that were caused by an increased humidity level in the crawlspace. Mold had already begun to grow on the floor joists under the home, which meant there was already too much moisture in the crawlspace. The Specialist noticed this and suggested that the homeowner have their crawlspace encapsulated with our CleanSpace liner and have a dehumidifier installed as soon as possible.

After our Specialist's suggestion, the homeowner wanted to get the work done and prevent further damage to their home. The crew went out to the home and began encapsulating the crawlspace. They had to start out with digging a trench for the drain tile, and laying down the drainage matting, both of which help water to get sump pump. To top it all off, the crew had to roll out the white carpet (also known as CleanSpace) to seal everything up. The only thing left to do was to install the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier ensures that the humidity level of the crawlspace stays below 55%, which is where mold is able to grow.

Simple Crawlspace Encapsulation Installed in Simpsonville, SC Home

This homeowner began to worry when they noticed that their crawlspace was staying humid. They started researching the problem and ended up on our website. They decided that they couldn't go wrong with a free estimate and seemed interested in getting this problem fixed for good. So they got set up with Alex Rogers, one of our Systems Design Specialists, to come out and look at the issue.

Just as the homeowner believed, their crawlspace had a much higher relative humidity level than it should be, which meant they needed to encapsulate the crawlspace. Alex suggested the homeowner go with a full CleanSpace encapsulation system. This includes a dehumidifier, SmartSump pump, drainage matting, 3-inch drain tile, and of course, the CleanSpace liner.

The crew started with digging out around the perimeter for the drain tile, and a hole for the SmartSump pump. Once this was done, the products were installed and the crew went on with the drainage matting, which was laid out over the entire crawlspace floor. Once the drainage matting is down and secure, the CleanSpace is rolled out. This is like the icing on the cake, sealing everything up. The only thing that was left after the CleanSpace was rolled out and sealed properly, the crew put in the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier is used to help keep the relative humidity level of the crawlspace low enough that mold cannot grow.

Give us a call at 1-833-567-3972, if you are around the Simpsonville, South Carolina area and are having similar problems as this homeowner!

Moisture in Simpsonville, SC Leads to Full Crawlspace Encapsulation

Here is another customer who was having problems with moisture in their crawlspace. Certainly not an uncommon issue for us to see, but something that can be extremely detrimental to a home's overall health. Our Systems Design Specialist, Alex Rogers was sent out to this home in order to figure out exactly what this customer needed in order to keep the crawlspace dry and free of moisture and mold.

In his inspection, Alex determined that the crawlspace had a much higher than normal relative humidity level, which if left unchecked for too long would allow mold to grow. This is the last thing that we would want to happen. So Alex suggested a full encapsulation for this homeowner. This system included our CleanSpace liner, SmartSump pump system, drainage matting, 3-inch drain tile, and a dehumidifier.

When the crew went out to start the installation they started with two items, the SmartSump and the drain tile. The crew started digging a hole for the sump pump to sit in, and a trench for the drain tile to go in. After these two products were in, the drainage matting was laid out. This helps to promote the flow of water under the CleanSpace liner. Then to seal it all up, the CleanSpace was rolled all out and sealed up the walls of the crawlspace. The CleanSpace is one of the most important parts of the system because it separates the crawlspace from the ground. Our crew then installed the dehumidifier which helps to help the humidity level low.

Basement Waterproofing in Simpsonville, SC

This homeowner in Simpsonville called All-Dry of the Carolinas when they noticed a lot of water and damp areas in their basement. Upon inspection by one our Service Design Specialists, he noticed that a lot of water was getting in and sitting around the perimeter of the basement. Our specialist knew exactly the solution, Waterguard. The first picture is just one of the areas that are specialist noticed was damp or had standing water.

There were a few different products we installed, but the main one was Waterguard. Waterguard is a drainage system that has a small gap along the perimeter of the basement wall, the gap allows any water that gets inside to be drained into the sump pump. In the second photo, you can see the "trench" that is made to fit the Waterguard. The sump pump, in this customer's case; a TripleSafe sump pump then pumps the water somewhere outside the home. The other product that was installed in this home's basement was ThermalDry Wall. This is the silver, reflective product on the wall in the last picture. ThermalDry helps to keep and reflect heat back into the basement. Another benefit of it is that it helps to drain any water seeping through the basement wall, straight to the Waterguard.

We hope that if anyone in the Simpsonville area needs any help with basement waterproofing, crawl space repair, or foundation repair, give us a call or fill out our customer contact form located here.

Crawl Space Encapsulation with CleanSpace Liner in Simpsonville, SC

This homeowner in Simpsonville had a lot of standing water under their home. Moisture is dangerous, but standing water means there is a serious problem under your home. The first two photos shows both moisture that has collected in the insulation, as well as standing water under the home.

There are several things to do in order to help this customer. The first thing is to make sure we remove all standing water and any moisture under the home. In this customer's case, we also had to remove the insulation that had been collecting water and growing mold. After that, our crew has to make sure there is no mold left over from the moisture. To do this, we must scrub and clean the "infected" areas with Mold-X. The final step is to seal everything up! Our crews do this with our CleanSpace Liner. This keeps water and moisture from building up under the home and causing even more problems. In this home, we also installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump gets rid of any water that does make its way into the crawlspace. While the CleanSpace liner definitely does its job well, a sump pump is a nice backup, especially during heavy rains and floods.
