Basements, even partially finished ones, need to be protected from water problems. This Columbia, South Carolina basement in particular would experience water trickling into it periodically. This wouldn’t be a huge problem if the owners weren’t using the space for storage, which, of course, they were. The owners wanted a system that would both capture the water and remove it from the space entirely.

The perfect solution was to install our patented SuperSump pump and WaterGuard drain system. The WaterGuard collects the water out of sight and then deposits it into the SuperSump pump. Both systems are installed below the floor and then covered with cement. Only the lid and the pipes are visible on the SuperSump.

The installation of these products will insure that the basement no longer suffers from leaking water.

Dreary crawlspaces are as unwelcoming as a wet floor sign. Often they are dark. Often they are humid. Often they are littered with specks of water and the scattered remnants of debris. They are all the same and yet a little different. This crawlspace needed professional help. We know this because the owner always noticed a musty smell and flooding whenever it rained. As you can imagine, this could be quite the nuisance.

Something needed to be done. And this Columbia, South Carolina crawlspace was ready for the solution.

Judging by this “after” photo, we’ve done just that. Not only is the area wrapped neatly in our patented CleanSpace liner, but we’ve also installed one of our best SuperSump pumps. To the right of it is a trusty dehumidifier designed to dry out the air.

One product that we do not get to install too often is the Turtl Crawlspace Entrance, which is a shame because it is a very cool product! They are installed when a crawl space entrance is located below ground level, which is one of the main reasons we do not get to put them in too often. These are airtight and leak-free entrances, so when it rains, you will not have to worry about water getting into your crawlspace.

The "before" photo shows the old crawlspace entrance, which certainly was not the prettiest sight. While it did have a cover, it still has a lot of areas for water to leak into. This entrance is also pretty tight to squeeze into, which the Turtl fixes!

The "after" picture shows the Turtl in action! As you can see, this entrance is much cleaner and nicer to enter the crawlspace in! You can also see the CleanSpace liner has already been installed in the crawlspace, which is another way we help to prevent water from making its way into the crawlspace.

Job Stories From Richland County, SC
Crawl Space Vapor Barrier Installation in Irmo, SC

This crawlspace in Irmo needed some work done when the homeowner noticed pools of water throughout the underside of her home. This is obviously an issue itself but can cause even bigger problems, like a mold or mildew infestation. Fortunately for Sue, she noticed this issue before it got too bad. One of these water pools can be seen in the first picture below.

This was a very simple solution for this homeowner, mainly only needing CleanSpace, drain tile, and a sump pump. Between these three items, at least for this crawlspace, all were able to get the job done. There were some other products installed, but these were the main three. The drain tile helps to drain the water towards the sump pump, which then pumps all of the water outside the home, in this case almost to the street. The CleanSpace is really the most important product though, it is what really provides a barrier between the crawlspace and the ground.

Sue will never have to worry about her crawlspace giving her any more troubles. Not only did she have the system installed by experts who have been doing this for several years, but the warranties on our products are great!

If you're in Irmo and you're having problems with your crawlspace, basement, or foundation, please call us!

Water Intrusion in Irmo, SC Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation

This homeowner had a few puddles of water in their crawlspace from water coming through the ground. This crawlspace was not soaked in water, but it was getting enough water that this was not just a passive issue. The homeowner called after they noticed a few small pools of water, like the one shown in the first photo. They knew that this was not normal, so they looked around on the Internet, which ended up leading them to us.

Fortunately, we were not too far away from this home and were able to send out a Systems Design Specialist in just a couple of days! He was able to assess the situation of the home and determine a solution that would help this homeowner feel safe and comfortable in their home. The Specialist's recommendation for this home included CleanSpace, 3-inch drain tile, drainage matting, and a SuperSump pump.

The crew started out by removing debris (which includes the old crawlspace liner that can be seen in the first couple photos), as well as to begin grading the ground. This is to help with drainage under the home. After that, the crew started digging a trench around the perimeter of the basement, as well as a hole for the sump pump. Once the digging was done, the crew installed both the drain tile and the SuperSump. There were a few smaller things that were done, but the last big part of the project was to lay out the CleanSpace Liner and seal everything up. This is one of the most important parts because it keeps moisture from coming around the edges of the CleanSpace.

If you are around the Irmo area and think you may be having moisture problems in your basement or crawlspace, or are having foundation issues, please contact us by either calling us at 1-864-619-3885 or filling out a free estimate form!

Water in Crawlspace Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation of Blythewood, SC Crawlspace

This crawlspace was in pretty rough shape after dealing with high moisture and relative humidity levels for awhile. This moisture began to allow mold to grow on some of the floor joists and insulation in the crawlspace. This was a pretty serious issue that needed to be dealt with sooner, rather than later. Our Systems Design Specialist, Alex Rogers, went out to this home to see what he could do for the homeowner.

The first couple of pictures show what the crawlspace looked like when Alex went out to the home for the first time. As you can see, the crawlspace was in pretty bad shape, with mold growing on the floor joists and some of the insulation. You can also see in the second photo that the area looks washed out, meaning that there was a significant amount of water that was in the crawlspace at some point. Alex's solution included CleanSpace, a SuperSump pump system, and a SaniDry dehumidifier.

The crew started with pulling out some of the problem insulation and cleaned up some of the floor joists with mold on them. Then the crew dug a hole for the SuperSump to be installed. After this they moved on to the CleanSpace liner, which can be seen in the last two photos. The CleanSpace covers all of the ground, and almost all of the wall, besides a small strip at the very top. Once the CleanSpace was down, the only thing left to be installed was the SaniDry dehumidifier. This helps to keep the relative humidity level of the crawlspace down, which keeps mold from growing.

High Moisture Level in Brevard, NC Leads to Installation of the CleanSpace Encapsulation System

Moisture under a home is something that many homeowners have to deal with. People don't realize how widespread of an issue this is, mainly because they aren't sure exactly what a crawlspace should look and feel like. There is a lot more science behind crawlspaces, basements, and homes in general than you could imagine. Changing one thing in the crawlspace may not only affect the crawlspace but the entire home. This is what our system takes advantage of.

This particular homeowner thought that there was too much moisture in the crawlspace of the home and decided to look into solutions for it. Through some online research, they were able to find us and wanted to have one of our System Design Specialists come to visit the home. We sent our Specialist out soon after they called in to schedule an appointment, and figured out what the best option would be for this homeowner. The Specialist suggested that the homeowner have CleanSpace installed as well as a dehumidifier.

The next step was for the crew to head out to the home and start the installation of the CleanSpace liner. While there weren't many products to install in this crawlspace, the area was quite large, so the crew had a big task ahead of them. Fortunately, they were able to start working through laying out the CleanSpace and get into a rhythm of installing it. After the CleanSpace was installed and properly sealed up by the crew, the last thing that they had to do was to install the dehumidifier in the crawlspace. The dehumidifier is installed in order to keep the humidity level of the crawlspace below the point where mold is able to grow.

Tight Crawlspace in Columbia, SC with High Humidity Level Has CleanSpace Encapsulation System Installed

Working in the crawlspace industry for decades has allowed each member our company to see a variety of different crawlspaces. Some are tall enough where you can walk and some aren't even big enough to turn from your stomach to your back. This crawlspace in Columbia, South Carolina was definitely was on the shorter side, allowing just enough room in some areas to crawl beneath the floor joists.

When our System Design Specialist went out to the home to assess the situation in the crawlspace, he found out how serious the issue was. When the homeowner initially called in, they reported that during heavy rains they would get 2-3 feet of water in the taller part of the crawlspace. Our Specialist almost immediately finding signs of this, one of the main ones being mold and mildew growth under the home. This crawlspace definitely needed a long-term solution to prevent this from happening over and over again. Our Design Specialist came up with a proposal on the spot for a system that would keep this homeowner from having to worry about any more water intrusion issues.

The system that was proposed included drainage matting, 3-inch drain tile, CleanSpace liner, a TripleSafe sump system, and a dehumidifier. These products all work together to provide a system that effectively keeps the water out of the crawlspace and keeps the humidity in the crawlspace below the point where mold can grow. Even in this very tight area our crew was able to properly seal everything up and leave this homeowner not having to worry about a thing!

Columbia, SC Home Receives Push Piers to Fix Stair Step Cracks in Exterior

Although wall cracks can be unsightly and potentially damaging to a home, a lot of people will put off finding a solution to the problem in favor of ignoring it all together. However, it never does the home or the homeowners any good. When they do decide to give us a call, the problem has progressed into a major issue, but we’re usually still more than happy to deal with it.

This homeowner was one of the early birds. They noticed the cracks in the outside wall of the house and decided to give us a call. As seen in the pictures, these stair step cracks are usually the result of the foundation settling. As time moves on, these cracks widen, making spaces wide enough for small vermin and insects to slip through.

The last few photos show where our crew installed the Push Piers which are made of steel. These piers permanently stabilize the home’s foundation and, in many cases, this solution can also lift a home back toward level, closing cracks and improving the operation of doors and windows. This installation does not require the use of heavy equipment, but it reaches greater depths than most other options.  It also, despite traveling so deep, requires minimal space to install and there’s very little disturbance on the property.

Columbia, SC Crawlspace in Need of CleanSpace barrier

This home in Columbia, SC had a crawlspace with a lot of issues. While many crawlspaces boast dirt floors, the dirt floors are usually the reason for much of the moisture issues. Without a plastic covering of some sort to trap the water vapor, it will rise right out of the dirt and into the crawlspace as well as the rest of the home. When that water vapor turns to water, you’ve gotten yourself a brand new puddle. The best way to handle this issue is to put down an impermeable material, specially designed for this purpose.

That’s where All-Dry of the Carolinas comes into play.

Our Design Specialist spoke with the homeowner, deduced the problem, and prescribed CleanSpace. CleanSpace, of course, is a 20 mils thick, reinforced plastic liner we use to cover crawlspace floors. The CleanSpace, for added coverage, is also sealed to the surrounding walls using a variety of methods designed to keep the material in place. This material is the ultimate product to keep that water vapor from rising up out of the soil and into your home.

Notice the difference? Not only is the water vapor problem solved, but the CleanSpace also transforms the crawlspace into a brighter, more aesthetically pleasing area. This homeowner no longer has to decide which pants they'll have to ruin climbing down in here. Now, they could move around easily without risking their Sunday's Best.

Columbia, SC Crawlspace Goes Out with the Old Insulation and Back in with the New CleanSpace

Crawlspaces can be a haven of humidity, a home for mold growth, and the heavyweight champion of “you don’t want to go down there.” Depending on the overall size and the items you have in it, crawlspaces can leave anyone feeling a little claustrophobic. This Columbia, SC crawlspace was no different. It was filled with hanging wires, falling insulation, and creeping crawlspace liners. And, despite all of these elements, the home was experiencing major moisture issues.

None of the installed items were actually doing their job. When the homeowner finally decided to give us a call, we were a little surprised at the state of it. But, it was nothing we couldn’t handle.

Our Design Specialist set to work, drawing up a sketch of the crawlspace and mapping out where everything would go.

In the end, this Columbia home needed our CleanSpace liner (to replace the loose, useless liner already torn and present), the Santa Fe dehumidifier to remove the moisture from the air, a SmartSump sump pump, and SilverGlo (our answer to the flimsy, moisture ridden insulation). Once our crew pulled out all of that old insulation and liner, space was practically transformed.

Blythewood, SC Huge Crawlspace Receives CleanSpace Liner

Even large crawlspaces are not exempt from the moisture rule. The larger the crawlspace, the more likely it is to cause problems for the Blythewood, South Carolina home. To make matters worse, this crawlspace was huge. The main issue the customer reported was water dripping into the crawlspace. Now, the homeowner had no idea where it was coming from, but they did know that it was causing the humidity levels in the crawlspace to rise exponentially.

After months of fighting this problem personally, they decided to give All-Dry of the Carolinas a call. We set up a free estimate and came out to inspect the place. Our Design Specialist, Alex Rogers, completely swept the crawlspace. Looking under every nook and cranny, he was able to take photos and find the location of the dripping water. After he was finished, he sat the homeowners down and discussed their next steps. Mr. Rogers quoted a condensate pump, a Santa Fe Edge II, and our patented CleanSpace liner. In the photos here, we’ve proudly displayed our CleanSpace.

There’s no other way to describe this liner other than to call it transformative. It’s a thick, white material that is reinforced so it will not rip or tear. We wrap every support as well as the walls in the crawlspace. This prevents any water from creeping in through the porous brick. All in all, the combination of these items was able to solve the water problem. The homeowners undoubtedly agree.

Water Pouring Through Walls in Columbia, SC Basement

Since air flows into the upper levels of your home from the basement, it brings the humidity from the basement with it. The effects on your home can include dust mites, swollen doors and windows, and buckling hardwood floors. As you can see, this Columbia, South Carolina basement has more than its fair share of moisture. For years, this home suffered from water intrusion. During the most intense rains, the home fared the worst. However, they would get water even when the rain was light. At several stages the owners attempted to waterproof the basement. Regardless, none of those attempts ever lasted very long. The owners wanted a more permanent, reliable solution.

That is what led them to contact All-Dry of the Carolinas. The owners wanted a solution that was both cost-effective and long-lasting. Our Design Specialist surveyed the home and gave them just that. Mr. Alex Rogers ventured out to the home and gave a full analysis of the basement for free. His proposal included units of our WaterGuard piping system, a SuperSump pump, and a LawnScape Well.

These products were chosen to capture the water as it leaks through the porous walls. The WaterGuard, which is installed along the basement perimeter, allows water past its wall flanges. These flanges allow in water, but not debris. From the WaterGuard, the water flows into the SuperSump and is pumped through the LawnScape Well outside.

Our crew led by Foreman Jose Najera completed this installation. The customer gave us back a glowing report on their professionalism and steadfast work. It was all in all a team effort. The homeowners were over joyed at its completion and All-Dry was satisfied with a job well done.

Damp Crawlspace in Columbia, SC Receives Perfect Fix

Water is essential for all life. Unfortunately, water in the crawlspace is simply disastrous. Essentially, it’s the worst possible outcome for a crawlspace. If your crawlspace has managed to acquire a swampy floor that just means that the humidity in the crawlspace has surpassed 100%. When that happens, you get water. You get a lot of water.

This Columbia, South Carolina crawlspace was the prime example of that.  The insulation experienced this first hand. The fiberglass insulation quickly became damp in the space and fell down. It became little more than decoration in this way. The liner the owners had installed wasn’t very helpful either. It only partially covered the dirt floor, exposing the crawlspace to water vapor. Ultimately, nothing helped deduce the enormous amount of water in the crawlspace. At their wits end, they decided to reach out to the professionals: All-Dry of the Carolinas.

We were able to send out one of our Design Specialists to perform the free estimate. They concluded that the installation of a CleanSpace liner, SmartSump pump, and dehumidifier would provide the perfect solution. Jose Najera led the installation and emerged with the final product looking neat and tidy. The difference between the before and after is stark. WaterGuard installed in Columbia, SC basement

This basement in Columbia, SC was taking on water. Our All-Dry of the Carolinas team installed at WaterGuard. A water guard is a system that intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SumpPump where it is then flushed from the basement. WaterGuard is different because it is designed to not sit in dirt like most draining systems do. There is a special wall flange that creates space between the floor and wall allowing wall seepage to drain through the WaterGuard while keeping it away from the dirt. Since this type of drainage is separated from dirt, the chances of it clogging are nearly impossible!

Total Encapsulation in Columbia, SC

Our All-Dry of the Carolinas team was able to solve this problem by using a series of our watering proofing technology. Our crew installed a CleanSpace liner, sump pump, and dehumidifier. When encapsulating the crawlspace with CleanSpace, it seals the area to keep moisture from creeping up from the ground and causing damage to your foundation.   A dehumidifier was placed in the crawlspace as a solution to the humidity that is produced from the pipes under your house. A SumpPump is to flush out entering water and excess water from the dehumidifier from the crawlspace. Together with all these tools, the crawlspace is completely protected from moisture.
