Crack Repair on Greenville, SC Driveway Using Nexus Pro

Crack Repair on Greenville, SC Driveway Using Nexus Pro

Crack Repair on Greenville, SC Driveway Using Nexus Pro Crack Repair on Greenville, SC Driveway Using Nexus Pro

Nexus Pro is a newer product that we have been using more recently. It is an excellent solution to sealing cracks in outdoor, concrete foundations like driveways. On this particular project, the driveway began cracking because the earth under it was shifting, which was causing cracks in both the driveway and the retaining wall. Our crew used wall anchors in order to prevent any further shifting.

However, there is no good way to get rid of the cracks other than to replace the entire driveway, or do some concrete patchwork. These are both bad ideas because to replace the entire driveway would be expensive, and to do patchwork, you would still run the risk of it cracking. Therefore, the best option for this homeowner was to use Nexus Pro. While it doesn't make the cracks disappear, but rather seals them.

As you can see in the after photo, the Nexus Pro makes quite a difference and helps to protect the driveway. It is unlike other sealants in that it resists drying out, bubbling, and cracking. It is a much longer lasting product than other sealants. Once the Nexus Pro completely dries, it is duller and isn't as noticeable as it is in the second photo.

While the work that we do may sometimes seem pretty routine, there are a lot of little things that must be looked at and taken into consideration before a proper estimate can be made. Fortunately for us, our System Design Specialists are extremely well trained and have enough experience to look for the intricacies of each and every crawlspace they enter. This is important when installing CleanSpace, because we want to make sure that the whole crawlspace is sealed up properly.

The first photo shows off a particularly interesting area in the crawlspace where a brick wall had started falling apart, as well as a small gap between the brick and garage structure. While it was still part of the crawlspace, because of its odd shape, it was better off to seal off this area. This is one of those things that could very easily be overlooked, but because of our Specialist's experience, was taken care of during the initial inspection.

The photo that was taken after the CleanSpace was installed shows the solution that our Specialist came up with. First off, our crew did a great job at working the CleanSpace around the broken brick wall, which can sometimes be difficult. The solution that our System Design Specialist came up with was to use one of our products, SilverGlo insulation to block off the area behind the broken brick wall. SilverGlo is not only sturdy, but it also will help insulate the crawlspace.

Severe Water Damage to Greenville, SC Basement Leads to WaterGuard Drain Severe Water Damage to Greenville, SC Basement Leads to WaterGuard Drain

Water getting into the basement of a home can be a pretty scary thing because, well, there shouldn't be water in the basement at all. However, water intrusion in a basement is unfortunately very common and something that we see almost daily. There are a few different ways and reasons why water gets into a basement, but we believe that there is only one permanent solution. Our solution addresses the water intrusion from the interior of the home.

This basement in Greenville had some very serious damage caused by water intrusion. While there were many areas that were affected by the water intrusion, the area pictured in the first photo shows off some of the more intense damage in the basement. Most of the damage is towards the bottom of the wall where the majority of the water was coming through. When our System Design Specialist visited the home and saw this, he knew exactly what was going to be needed to take care of this issue for good.

The second photo shows the same area but after our crew had come out to the home to install the system. The most noticeable part of the installation is the CleanSpace liner that can be seen covering just about the entire wall. The CleanSpace catches any water that may get in through the basement wall and directs it down to the WaterGuard drain. The WaterGuard is actually on the floor of the basement and has been covered with concrete in this photo. The WaterGuard goes along the perimeter of the basement and collects the water coming into the basement and then drains the water down to the sump pump where it can be pumped out and away from the home.

Job Stories From Greenville, SC
Water Intrusion in Greenville, SC Basement Leads to Installation of WaterGuard Drain System

Water intrusion, unfortunately, is one of those frustrating issues that sometimes come with owning a home. The thing that makes water intrusion different is that it does not just affect the one room where the water is, but can have an effect on the entire home. Air flows upwards from the lower levels of a home towards the top, which means that everything that is in the air in a basement gets drawn up into the upper levels of the home. This can mean bad smells or even worse mold particles. Water intrusion is something that should be taken care of as soon as possible in a home.

This homeowner had quite a bit of water coming in through their basement floor and it began to cause some serious damage. They weren't exactly sure what needed to be done at first, but they knew that they were going to have to find someone who was able to help them with this increasingly pressing issue. Fortunately, through some online research, they were able to find our company. They wanted to see how we could help them out, so they called us to have one of our System Design Specialists come out to the home. Just a few days later our Specialist was out at the home and figuring out exactly what this homeowner was going to need to take control of the water intrusion issue. The system that was proposed included CleanSpace liner, a SuperSump Pump System, and our WaterGuard drain.

The homeowner thought the system made complete sense and wanted to have it installed as soon as possible. The crew was able to get out to the home and begin working on the basement. They started out first by removing the concrete from the floor around the perimeter of the basement as well as a deeper hole for the SuperSump that was to be installed. After the concrete was removed the crew installed the CleanSpace on the walls of the basement in order to catch any water that may get in. They then installed the SuperSump and WaterGuard in the areas that the concrete was removed. All three of these products work very well together in order to keep the water out of the basement and to keep more damage from occurring.

High Moisture Levels in Greenville, SC Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation

Crawlspaces are probably the least used and visited part of a home, which makes catching problems there even less likely. However, every once and awhile homeowners get lucky and have a contractor in their crawlspace who realizes there is a moisture or water intrusion issue, and inform the homeowner about the issue. This has happened with several homeowners that we have done work for, and has happened with pest control companies to flooring companies!

The happened to be the case for this homeowner in Greenville. They had a pest control inspector at their home and during his inspection he noticed that there was way too much moisture in the crawlspace and notified the homeowner. They were extremely grateful for this and begin searching online for contractors in the area who handled the issues that they were dealing with. They were able to find us through this search and gave us a call to set up an estimate. The Systems Design Specialist visited the home and saw that the problem was pretty severe, but knew that with a little bit of work and the installation of our products, this crawlspace could be as good as new.

Once our crew made it out to the home they began digging out a trench for the 3-inch drain tile and a hole for the SuperSump pump system to be installed in. After this was taken care the crew went on to install the main part of the system, which was the CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace liner is what really separates the crawlspace from the earth, because covers the entire area and is then sealed up. Last but not least, a dehumidifier was installed in the crawlspace in order to handle any moisture that was still able to make it into the crawlspace.

Basement and Crawlspace Waterproofing in Greenville, SC Home

This home in Greenville, South Carolina was having some water intrusion issues throughout their home. The homeowner was dealing with water in both their crawlspace and the basement of the home. Both of which are bad news if not taken care of quickly and effectively. This was certainly an interesting home to work on because of the two different "projects" that were being done at the same time.

Both of the jobs were equally as important, but required very different methods in order to address and fix. In order to help the basement stay dry, we had our crew install WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement floor. The WaterGuard is a drain that, when installed, leaves a slight gap between the floor and wall. This gap is just big enough for water to go into the drain, but small enough that it is hardly noticeable. A sump pump was also installed in the basement, so that the water collected in the WaterGuard would promptly be pumped out of and away from the home.

The other part of the job was to waterproof the crawlspace. While the jobs were both quite big, the crawlspace was a much tighter area and had more products to have installed. The main product that was installed in the crawlspace was the CleanSpace Liner. This is one of our most popular products, because it does its job so well. The CleanSpace Liner was expertly installed by our crew. This liner is what really keeps the crawlspace separated from the outside, and does an amazing job keeping the moisture out.

Currently my husband and I are working on a contract for a home with our realtor and I have some concerns pertaining to the crawl space of the 1977 home. There does not appear to be insulation underneath the sub-flooring and the crawl space appears to be very dry, yet there is one area in the sub floor of the laundry room that has obtained water damage. However, it will require sealing off of air vents around the foundation and an installation of a vent fan. I am interested in applying a 12-20 mil vapor barrier as well as sealing off the aprox. 3' high walls up to the sill plate. Also, how much you charge for the install of a dehumidifier and is it an absolute requirement? I understand that it is difficult to give an extremely precise estimate with so many factors being left out due to not physically viewing the home, but I am hoping to receive a ball park estimate of your average costs to encapsulate this age of a home that is aprox. 1650 sqft. Just an average cost would help us understand what we could potentially be facing if and when the contract goes through. Thanks

I am a real estate agent, and my clients are under contract to purchase a home that was built in 2000 and is on a crawlspace. The home inspection found several areas where water is penetrating into the crawlspace. There are also signs of efflorescence on the brick/cement block foundation in the crawlspace. The moisture reading is low (17%) and there is only a little water (about a cup) in the crawlspace. We would like for you to come out and evaluate what is going on, and prepare an estimate for the repair/remediation. Buyer will then ask seller to make repairs, or offer compensation for buyer to make repairs once they purchase the home.
