Job Stories From Jackson County, NC
Crawl Space Encapsulation Cashiers, NC

This home in Cashiers had quite a bit of water intrusion and moisture issues in their crawlspace. These issues are often ignored for months or years before the homeowner actually takes a serious look at them. This homeowner was not quick on the draw but got to this problem before it got way out of control. You can see from the first photo that there is a lot of standing water and moisture in the crawlspace. Unfortunately, this moisture caused mold growth on the floor joists under the home.

Even though there was mold growing in the home, it was not too difficult for us to take care of. Our crew started off by installing the sump pump. After the sump pump is installed, the CleanSpace liner was laid down to create a barrier from the ground and the crawlspace. You can see the CleanSpace liner in the second and third pictures. It provides a lot of protection for the home, and coupled with the other products, really prevents your crawlspace from having an increased humidity level and mold growth. Once this barrier is established and sealed off by our crew, they get to clean!

The product we use to clean off mold and keep it out is MoldX. The installers wipe down the surfaces under the home to clean off the mold. This product also helps to keep mold from growing back if any problems ever come up again.

We urge any Cashiers homeowner to call us or fill out a contact form if you have any kind of basement, crawl space, or foundation repair needs!

Cracks Throughout Glenville, NC Home Repaired with Push Piers

This homeowner was extremely concerned with the health of their home when they began to notice these large cracks on both the inside and outside of the basement. While this was very unfortunate for this homeowner to be experiencing, we believed we could help. Once the System Design Specialist went out to the home and examined the damage that had been done to the home, he knew that with a few push piers, the problem could be taken care of.

After our Specialist explained exactly what would be done if he chose our company and how the system works, the homeowner decided to have the work done. There are some problems that can be overlooked in a home, but serious foundation issues like this is something that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. Fortunately the homeowner realized this and set up a date for our crew to come out to the home and install the push piers.

Our crew had their work cut out for them with installing a total of eight push piers at a few different locations around the home. The push piers must be installed at the proper locations, because the weight of the home (or areas in question) must be equally distributed among the piers so that no one pier is overburdened. The crew must dig down to the bottom of the foundation in order to secure the push piers to it. After that is done, long metal tubes are driven deep into the ground until they hit stable "ground". This stability is then used to help lift the home back towards its original position. After the home is raised, there isn't much else for the crew to do other than clean up and touch up a few things!

CleanSpace Encapsulation Done for Cullowhee, NC Crawlspace with Moisture Issues

Moisture issues are something that can cause a number of problems. This is a pretty big issue and affects homes all over the country and even homes in other countries. However, during the summer in South Carolina, it can seem like it couldn't get any worse! With high outside humidity and open vents into a crawlspace, a lot of moisture can get into the crawlspace and begin causing damage. There is a way to get ahead of this though, by taking proactive measures and having a system installed before any problems get too serious.

Fortunately, this homeowner was aware of the possibility of these different problems and took initiative to have the crawlspace looked at before an issue ever arose. We had one of our System Design Specialists head out to the home just a few days after there initial call. The homeowner was happy with the quote that our Specialist drew up for them, so we had them schedule a date for our crew to come out and have the system installed!

The crew was able to come out just a few weeks later to install the system for this homeowner. The home had a large crawlspace, but our crew was able to knock everything out in just two days! Since there was not actually an issue at the moment, our Specialist suggested that the homeowner have the crawlspace encapsulated with CleanSpace liner, as well as have a SmartDrain installed. The SmartDrain is installed to detect plumbing leaks and will alert the homeowner if one should happen. The CleanSpace helps to encapsulate the crawlspace and keep moisture and water from getting in. This area is ready for this homeowner to use as a huge storage area!

Monster CrawlSpace in Sylva saved

The land where homes are built are not always flat and even, so this results in water running downhill. This is a problem because as the water flows downhill, even the tiniest space can let water in through the foundation and into the crawl space. Once water gets into the crawl space it increases the moisture rates and will end up damaging the home.

This home in Sylva, NC was dealing with this very problem. The low spot in this yard was in the middle of the back of the house. As water was flowing downwards towards that spot it caused the water to get into the crawl space. The crawl space ended up collecting so much water that most of it had standing water throughout it. This water and moisture had started to cause damage to the crawl space and was beginning to damage the foundation. Mold had begun to accumulate, insulation was falling, and pests were finding their way in.

A foundation specialist first went out to the home to help out, but referred them to us at All-Dry of the Carolinas to fix the crawl space moisture issue. We sent out our design specialist, David Listovitch, to check out the property where he found the crawl space in ruins. The normal humidity that is safe for a crawl space is around 50%. This crawl space was reading a 70% relative humidity level. To fix this nightmare crawl space, he suggested a variety of products that would help clean up the space and keep it dry.

One of the biggest issues when tackling a crawl space like this is the cleanout before installing our products. This crawl space had to be cleared of fallen insulation, rocks, dirt, trash, and other items. It took our crew a while to clean out this area, but once it was done they were able to begin installing our waterproofing products.

CleanSpace job done in Whittier, NC

This home was just like many other homes in the Carolinas and Georgia, as well as homes throughout the country! It was having moisture issues, which was causing a musty smell with the chance to grow mold. Unfortunately, this is a reality for many homeowners, caused by none of their own doing.

This homeowner had already tried to solve this problem with a DIY solution, using a normal crawl space liner. Unfortunately, this DIY solution was not able to help the homeowner. Instead, this homeowner needed a real solution that was not just going to postpone the issues or sometimes even make them worse. The solution was to install our CleanSpace liner and a Aprilaire dehumidifier.

The first two photos show what the crawl space looked like before any work was done, while the final photo shows the difference that our products made. Our crew went in the crawlspace and almost immediately started rolling out the CleanSpace, after doing some minor cleaning. The crew quickly and correctly laid the CleanSpace and sealed it up properly, so that no areas would let moisture come through. After the CleanSpace was down, the crew put in the dehumidifier. The Aprilaire E100 dehumidifier, helps to keep the humidity level in the crawlspace under 55%, because anything much higher than that, and mold may be able to grow on the organic surfaces of the crawlspace.

If you are anywhere in the Western Carolinas or Georgia and are experiencing similar problems to those described in this job story, contact us through our website or call us at 1-833-567-3972!
