Job Stories From Haywood County, NC
Maggie Valley, NC Crawl Space Repair

This home in Maggie Valley was having a lot of issues with water intrusion into their crawlspace. The ground under this crawlspace's old liner was drenched and was starting to cause problems for this homeowner. There was so much water on the ground of the crawl space, that it actually began to soak into the crawlspace walls. This was no small leak, but a very serious issue that needed to be taken care of.

Even though there was a lot of water, it hadn't been long enough to cause any mold or mildew issues in the crawlspace, which is always a good sign. This essentially leaves us to dry out the crawlspace, install our products, and let them do their job! When our crew came back to do the work, the crawlspace was already a little dryer which is a good sign.

Our crew immediately got to work by installing the SuperSump sump pump in the crawlspace. This sump pump helps to pump out any water that makes its way into the crawlspace. The crew then dug a trench around the perimeter of the crawlspace for our drain tile to be installed in. This drain tile helps to collect water a drain it to the sump pump. After these two things were taken care of, the icing was put on the cake with the installation of the CleanSpace Liner. This helps to really seal everything in (or out depending on your perspective).

Basement Waterproofing in Waynesville, NC

This homeowner wanted to work on making their basement more livable and more like a finished basement. This is always something that we like to do because finished basements are a great way to add more room and value to a home! Although an unfinished basement isn't a waste of space, having a liveable basement is great!

While we didn't finish this basement, we helped push it more towards being a finished and more liveable area. We did this by providing a drainage system so that no water would stay in the basement and cause moisture, mold, or mildew problems. We also installed BrightWall Paneling, which helps to waterproof a basement even further, while providing a better-looking wall. Last, but not least a SuperSump sump pump was installed to pump out any water collected by the Waterguard.

This homeowner actually had water seeping through his basement walls, which was causing mold to grow in the basement. Installing the BrightWall and the Waterguard had a profound effect on the crawlspace in several ways. As mentioned before, the most important part of it was the collection and drainage of the water that was causing issues in the basement. The other benefit is how it made the basement look. The bright wall really changed the dynamic of this basement for the better!

Maggie Valley, NC Basement Transformed with BrightWall Panels and WaterGuard Drain

This homeowner was noticing a strange smell coming from their basement and started to notice some wet spots around the perimeter of the basement floor. They were also looking to spruce up this area, although they were not quite sure how to do this. Fortunately, the owner called us to see if we would be able to help them solve their problems. Not only were we able to take care of the water intrusion issue, but we also had a solution to help them spruce up the basement!

This project was something that we see almost every day here at All-Dry of the Carolinas, so the installation was pretty routine. However, that does not take away the importance of the system. Our Systems Design Specialist recommended this homeowner go with WaterGuard and a sump pump to take care of the water intrusion issues, and BrightWall Paneling to help with both the water intrusion, as well as helping with the water intrusion.

Our crew started with digging out an area for the SuperSump pump to be installed in, as well as digging out the floor around the perimeter of the basement floor for the WaterGuard. After the SuperSump pump system was installed in the basement, the WaterGuard drain started to get installed in the trenches that were made for the WaterGuard. After the WaterGuard was put it, the crew mixed some concrete to cover most of the WaterGuard, except for one small gap for the water to get in. The last thing that the crew installed was the BrightWall panels. These not only look good and give the room a more finished look, but also help to drain the water into the WaterGuard.

Standing Water in Waynesville, NC Crawlspace Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation

Standing water in a crawlspace can be a very serious issue and can even cause health problems in people living in the home. This is something that should be taken very seriously and looked at by a professional as soon as possible. Some crawlspaces are worse than others, but any crawlspace with a high moisture level is never good. Thankfully there is a professional right in your backyard who can help out!

This home in Waynesville was dealing with a lot of water intrusion and standing water in their crawlspace. This home backed up to the side of a hill, which meant all of the water coming down the hill would wind up in the crawlspace of this home. Every time it would rain in this area this would happen, so the owner wanted it fixed as soon as possible. Our System Design Specialist went out to the home and could not believe the amount of water under the home, having huge puddles of standing water throughout the entire crawlspace. However, our Specialist knew that we would still be able to help this homeowner out! With the installation of a few products, this homeowner wouldn't have to worry about a wet crawlspace any longer. Our Specialist suggested the homeowner have CleanSpace, drainage matting, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, a sump pump, and this homeowner actually had sagging floors, so they had SmartJacks installed as well.

The crew did an excellent job when installed this system under the home. The had to start out by digging out an area for and installing the sump pump. After this was done, the crew started to roll out the drainage matting and stake it to the ground. Once the drainage matting was installed, the CleanSpace was rolled out to really seal up the crawlspace. The CleanSpace definitely takes up a good portion of the time, because it has to be done specifically and sealed up properly. There were only a few small things to take care of after that including installing the SaniDry Sedona as well as putting the EverLast Door as the entrance to the crawlspace. While these may seem like minor things, they are actually extremely important to the system.

Total Encapsulation in Waynesville, NC

Our All-Dry crew was able to install a series of our waterproofing technology that would take care of the water issue in the crawlspace. Our crew installed a CleanSpace liner, condensate pump, and dehumidifier. When encapsulating the crawlspace with CleanSpace, it seals the area to keep moisture from creeping up from the ground and causing damage to your foundation.   A dehumidifier was placed in the crawlspace as a solution to the humidity that is produced from the pipes under your house. A condensate pump was connected to the dehumidifier to pump the water from the crawlspace. Together with all these tools, the crawlspace is completely protected from moisture.

Installing WaterGuard in Clyde, NC

These homeowners in Clyde, NC called us at All-Dry of the Carolinas to come look at their basement that was taking in tons of water. This basement had block walls and a cement floor and was being used as a storage space for the homeowners. As water would seep into the basement it was beginning to cause high moisture levels and dampness that was beginning to affect their belongings and home. This house already had a jack system in place to protect the stability of the floors, so this massive increase of water and moisture was a threat to an existing problem.

When the homeowners called us, all they could say was, “there is a lot of water coming into the basement and we don’t know how or where”. When we sent our design specialist, David Listovitch, to investigate the problem he noticed that water was seeping into the basement from where the wall and floor met. This water was being forced into the home due to hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure is when ground water is forced down by gravity. As gravity is pulling down the water it might come into contact with basement walls, such as in this case. The gravity forces water against the wall until it finds a way to go around the wall or through it. In most cases, water finds a weak point in walls and begins to leak into basements. Since there is no such thing as stopping gravity (unless you’re in space) the best way to handle a situation like this is to have a system in place ready to catch the water and remove it from the basement.

David Listovitch quoted this family a mixture of waterproofing products that would result in a dry basement. WaterGuard, a SuperSump, and an Aprilaire were placed into this basement to fix this problem.
