This home had a lot of foundation work that needed to be done to it, including SmartJacks, wall anchors, and push piers. This homeowner made the trifecta, because these are the three main foundation repair products that we have here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. The SmartJacks were used to support beams in the garage, the wall anchors were used to help correct the bowing basement walls, and the push piers were installed to keep the foundation in its proper place.
The first part of this job was to bring the foundation to the proper level and help to close some of the small cracks that this home was having. The push piers are installed first because of how they can change the level of the foundation. Even though this home did not need to be raised nearly as much as others, it is always best to follow procedure.
Next came the wall anchors into the basement wall. Anything dealing with a home's foundation is very serious, but a caved in wall can cause more than a huge headache for a homeowner. While this wall wasn't in danger of caving in, it is always important to deal with sooner, because a catastrophic wall failure is a huge deal, as you can imagine.
Last, but not least our crew installed two SmartJacks next to the garage door, which is what the second two pictures are of. Our crew had to cut out a small square of concrete on each side of the garage door in order to provide an area to install the SmartJacks in. These SmartJacks installed in order to support the beams above the garage door.
