This Columbia, SC home, before they gave us a call, was having high moisture issues in different parts of the house. High moisture, when not taken care of, can cause all sorts of problems, including breed mold.

Before we went any further, we gave the home a thorough investigation. Found in the crawlspace was a great deal of junk as well as deteriorating insulation. Now contrary to popular belief, insulation in a crawlspace doesn’t actually do anything if it’s damp. And damp insulation, like that from the home here, can’t do its job. It starts to stink, sag, and stop any chance you’ll have of a moisture free home. Even if the home didn’t have the damp insulation, there would still be issues because of the dirt floor. Water vapor can also rise up from dirt, bringing more moisture into the space to raise the humidity levels.

To fight this issue our Design Specialist recommended a few products. The one product pictured here is our CleanSpace liner. The CleanSpace is a 20 mils thick plastic liner that is reinforced with polyester cords giving it a durability that makes it almost impossible to tear. It also happens to not only make the space crawl ready, but it also brightens it tenfold.

Using these photos here, anyone can tell the difference CleanSpace can make.

The owners of this home did not come to us unprepared. The funny thing about these homeowners is that they came to us with the idea that they needed both a dehumidifier and a sump pump. Incidentally, they were right. What they also needed was CleanSpace.

The “after” photo pictures this well. During the product install, we were able to plug in CleanSpace in every inch of this crawlspace. We even covered the support piers in this thick material. The SuperSump pump was installed next. This item actually receives the water and it is pumped out of the crawlspace.

I know the homeowners are quite satisfied with what we’ve done here, and our team was satisfied with their handy work as well.

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a million times: CleanSpace saves a crawlspace. Let’s take these photos here into account. There’s obvious debris and dirt in the first picture. The debris can be easily removed, but that dirt won’t be going anywhere for a long time. In addition to adding to the moisture problem, the dirt floor is unsightly and any standing water in the crawlspace will only heighten the humidity issue. Even if there are no floods or freak storms to dampen your crawlspace, water will make its way in through the use of the air and the ground. Yes, even the ground.  The best way we handle that issue is to put down some of our patented CleanSpace.

CleanSpace, pictured here in the “After” photo, is a 20 mils thick liner reinforced with polyester cords. It’s extremely durable and nearly impossible to rip or tear accidentally. Not only that, but it takes away that uninhabitable look most dirt crawlspaces have. It’s easy to clean and keeps clean relatively easy. This Lexington, SC homeowner learned that pretty quickly and are now a bit more inclined to make the journey down there. When we take a look at the difference between the two photos, we can, without a doubt, understand why.

Job Stories From Lexington County, SC
Crawlspace Drain and Sump Pump Installation in Leesville, SC

This crawlspace in Leesville, South Carolina had water coming in during heavy rains. The rain water getting into the basement is not necessarily a bad thing, the detrimental part is when the water stays in the crawlspace or basement. This homeowner was having an issue with the water soaking into the foundation walls and the crawlspace floor. This can be seen in the first two pictures; the first photo shows how part of the crawlspace floor was soaked, and the second picture shows how the water had been sucked up by the porous wall.

To help with this issue, our Service Design Specialist came up with a helpful drainage solution. The system comprised of a drainage pipe around the perimeter of the crawlspace, as well as a sump pump. This drain can be seen in the last two pictures. The drain itself is a 3-inch plastic pipe with holes drilled throughout it. This allows water to enter the pipe, where it then runs to the sump pump.

The particular sump pump that was installed in this crawlspace was a UltraSump. This sump pump is great because of its battery-backup that it has. While we hope that power loss never happens, it is more likely going to happen during a heavy storm, which would be the worst time for a sump pump to go out! For this reason, this customer chose this option, just to be on the safe side.

If you are in the Batesburg-Leesville area and are experiencing any kind of problems with your crawlspace, basement, or even foundation issues, we would love to speak with you about the options you have to save your home and yourself from any more frustration! Call us at 1-864-619-3885!

Crawl Space Drain & Sump Pump Installation in Gilbert, SC

This was a sight for sore eyes to our crew members, it was an actual walk-in crawlspace! This means that the crew wouldn't have to do all of the work on their hands and knees, but actually have some room to move. This homeowner was having some pretty serious issues with water intrusion in their crawlspace, which is why they initially called us.

This homeowner definitely wanted to make sure that their water intrusion was taken care of because they used part of their crawl space as a storage area, which can be seen in the pictures. The first photo shows what our Service Design Specialist saw when he first visited this home. While it does not look like much, if you pay attention to this old liner the homeowner laid down, you can see quite a bit of condensation under it. While this liner wasn't the best it was helping the moisture issue a little bit, the homeowner believed that all he need was a little drainage to take care of the moisture issue completely.

The homeowner ended up with a perimeter drain of 3-inch drain tile, that was then covered in a mesh sock and gravel. Both of these items help to protect and filter out dirt and other sediments that may make it to the pipe and eventually the sump pump, which is something that we want to avoid. This is because if the sump pump gets clogged and stops working, then the whole system can back up, which is never good for the homeowner! This is also one reason that we offer and suggest our annual maintenance plan!

If you are in the Gilbert area and think that you have issues with your crawlspace, basement, or foundation issues, please give us a call at 1-864-619-3885!

Problems with Moisture in Lexington, SC Crawlspace Leads to CleanSpace Installation

Many of the homes that our System Design Specialists visit already have some kind of liner in the crawlspace. There are many different reasons for having this liner installed, but many people have them installed to help combat high humidity levels in the crawlspace of a home. However, these liners are not thick enough and installed properly to keep the moisture out of the crawlspace.

This home in Lexington, South Carolina had some of this liner down but was still having issues with high moisture levels in the crawlspace. Once the homeowner noticed this, they began searching around for a company who would be able to help them out. Fortunately, through their search, they were able to find All-Dry of the Carolinas. We had a System Design Specialist go out to the home to figure out exactly what was going to have to be done to keep the moisture levels low in the crawlspace.

Our Specialist was able to figure out exactly what needed to be done, and shortly after the homeowner saw his quote and get the work done, our crew was out at the home! They first had to dig out a trench around the perimeter of the crawlspace for the 3-inch drain tile and another hole for the SmartSump to be installed in. After this was done the CleanSpace was rolled out to seal everything up! Last, but not least was the installation of the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier is an important part of the system and helps to ensure that the humidity level in the crawlspace is below the point where mold can grow.

Water Coming in Through Lexington, SC Basement Walls Has WaterGuard Drainage System Installed

Water intrusion is not anything new to us, but we deal with a lot of homeowners who had never really noticed anything out of the ordinary. Sometimes there is almost an assumption that basements are meant to be a little damp and musty smelling. However, this isn't the case at all, and these issues can be cleared up if the right solution is used to fix the issue. We know that the right solution for keeping a dry basement is to install WaterGuard drain, a sump pump, and sometimes a few other products.

This homeowner in Lexington, South Carolina had begun to notice their basement walls getting damp, especially during heavy rains. The did some online research, where they found our company, they liked what they saw and gave us a call to schedule a free estimate. One of our System Design Specialists went out of the home and figured out where the water was coming in and the best way to take care of the problem. The solution that the Specialist proposed was to install WaterGuard, CleanSpace, a SuperSump Pump System, as well as an UltraSump battery backup.

The homeowner loved the idea of the system and just a few weeks later our crew was at the home and getting to work! The first thing the crew had to do was remove the concrete along the floor and another small area of concrete for the SuperSump. After that, the crew went to work installing the WaterGuard drain and the CleanSpace wall. The CleanSpace is sealed to the wall and helps to catch and direct water to the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard catches any water getting into the basement and drains it to the SuperSump where it is then expelled from the home.

If you are in the Lexington, South Carolina area and think you may be having a similar problem to this homeowner, then please contact us today! There are two ways to do this; you can either fill out a customer contact form here or give our office a call at 1-864-619-3885!

Water Intrusion in Chapin, SC Basement Leads to Installation of WaterGuard Drain

Water intrusion in a basement is not anything new to us here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. Between our System Design Specialists and Production crews, we see this just about every day. While this is never an exciting issue for homeowners to deal with, it is something that we specialize in taking care quite frequently and have done thousands of times before.

This homeowner was having some pretty serious water intrusion when our System Design Specialist first stopped by the home. Enough so that part of the concrete in the basement needed to be released. While this wasn't great for the homeowner, it gave us the opportunity to install our WaterGuard Drain before the new concrete was poured. This benefited both the homeowner and our company.

The last two photos show off the area where our crew installed the WaterGuard. It is installed around the edge of the basement in order to catch any water coming through the basement floor/wall joint. After our crew was finished with the installation the homeowners went ahead and had some concrete poured to cover everything back up. The WaterGuard has a flange that leaves a small gap between the floor and wall that allows water to get into the WaterGuard. It then flows to the SuperSump that was also installed, where it will be pumped out and away from the home. That was the last piece of the installation and all our crew had left to do was to make sure to clean everything up!

Wet Chapin, SC Crawlspace with Falling Insulation Has Full CleanSpace Encapsulation

Damp, wet, moist, and humid crawlspaces are things that we deal with just about every day here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. Having water or high humidity in a crawlspace can be a much more serious problem than people may realize. It can cause serious problems with the structure and support of the home, health problems (if mold is growing), and many other issues. This is definitely something that homeowners should keep a look out for and be proactive about.

This homeowner in Chapin decided to give us a call when they began noticing water pooling up under their home and when their insulation was falling down. After our System Design Specialist went out to the home and took a look at the area, he designed a system specifically for this home to protect the home from any further water intrusion or damage. After taking a look at the proposal our Design Specialist drew up, the homeowner decided to go ahead and move forward with the work.

Our crew came out to the home and got straight to work on encapsulating this crawlspace. One of the first things that they had to do was to remove all of the wet, possibly moldy insulation. After that was taken care of, the crew started working on the drain tile and the SmartSump Pump system which is how the water is drained and pumped away from the home. The biggest part of the installation process was the CleanSpace, which had to be rolled out and sealed up. The final piece of the installation was the SaniDry dehumidifier in order to make sure the humidity level of the crawlspace stays below the point where mold can grow.

Lexington, SC Crawlspace Is Rejuvenated with CleanSpace and Santa Fe Edge II

Crawlspaces can be ugly, musky places. Now, we understand that they don’t necessarily have to be “clean city”, but we also want to be able to go down there. This Lexington, South Carolina crawlspace was not making that easy.

When our Design Specialist investigated the space, he found that there were high humidity levels in the crawlspace. The customer wanted a vapor barrier of some sort, but did not think he could afford the full encapsulation. That was fine with us. Our specialist was able to prescribe a few products to rectify the outrageous humidity levels.

We installed our patented CleanSpace liner, a condensate pump, a custom door, and a Santa Fe Edge II dehumidifier. The CleanSpace liner acts as a first line of defense from the radon gas and other natural gases that rise from the dirt. It’s 20 mils thick, and corded with polyester which makes it nearly impossible to tear or rip. The dehumidifier, as the name suggests, takes the moisture from the air in the crawlspace and releases dry air back into the space. The moisture it collects is directed into the condensate pump. Just like that it’s done.

Once we came out and finished the job, the customers felt a lot better about occasionally visiting their crawlspace.

Basement in Lexington, SC Has WaterGuard and CleanSpace Wall Installed

This Lexington, South Carolina has been having water issues for quite some time. The property owner had previously installed a sump pump, but it was not stopping the rest of the water. The sump pump was working fine, but the water was not always making it into the sump pump. The owner, before calling us, had concluded that the sump was fine, but the system was not. They were correct.

They decided to give All-Dry of the Carolinas the ‘go ahead’ to come on out. Once we sent our Design Specialist out there, he was able to confirm exactly what the property owners feared. The system was failing. Thankfully, they were able to contact All-Dry just in time and we were able to give them just the right products to do what the other system had promised.

We installed CleanSpace Wall, a thick plastic liner, to go around the perimeter of the crawlspace. Next, we made an incision along the perimeter of the crawlspace and installed our patented WaterGuard system. This system does what the other system could not do. It discreetly catches water that drains off of the walls and funnels it into the sump pump. There is a small area that is pressed against the wall that allows water to pass into it, but does not allow debris and rocks into the system. We connected our WaterGuard with the existing sump pump so it could direct the water away from the home.

Now that the problems have been rectified, the owners aren’t having any more water issues in their basement.

Basement Flooding During Rains Gets Waterproofing in Cayce, SC

Nothing ruins a basement more than a continuous out pouring of water. It will ruin floors, walls, and damage furniture. The truth of the matter is that concrete block walls are bound to have water problems. The blocks themselves are extremely porous.  Air and water will squeeze right through those tiny openings. The amount of water you receive, of course, depends solely on the ferocity of the rains. However, the fact remains: there will be water.

This Cayce, South Carolina basement was all too familiar with the ferocity of rain. In the more problematic areas of the basement, the owners attempted to have the walls treated. This did not work for very long. They continued to see the evidence of a down pour stained on their floors. To say that this was annoying is an understatement. Nothing they would do worked. They were beginning to lose hope.

Then, they decided to call All-Dry of the Carolinas and everything changed.

Design Specialist Alex Rogers handled the estimate, concluding that WaterGuard should be installed along the perimeter of the basement. We also introduced a TripleSafe Sump pump. This pump would handle collecting the water if the basement should flood. A LawnScape Well concluded the list of products for the job.  Crew Foreman Jose Najera meticulously led its install. The customer was satisfied overall with the project and is now enjoying a water free basement.

Lexington, SC Basement with Existing Sump Needs New Drainage System

Waterproofing a room is as important as they come. What’s important to remember here is that while the room is sort of separate from your home (in how it is used) the room is still part of your home. And so, any problems present in your basement will undoubtedly pass into the other parts of the home if left unchecked.

Water issues, for example, while they will mostly remain in the basement, it’s often true that other parts of the home will begin to suffer as well. Mold will grow upstairs and down stairs. You’ll see doors and windows begin to stick and the carpets give off this terrible odor. These problems won’t disappear.

This Lexington, South Carolina home experienced all of those problems and more before they tried to waterproof their basement. The home had an existing sump pump that worked fine. The problem was that water almost never made it there. The baseboard system didn’t work well at all. They wanted—no—they needed a better solution.

Luckily, upon completing a Google search, they found us: All-Dry of the Carolinas. We were able to set them up with a free estimate with Design Specialist Alex Rogers. He proposed a system that included WaterGuard, a drainage system, and CleanSpace Wall.

Now, the WaterGuard is our preferred system for catching water. It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and catches water as it falls down the wall. We connect this system to the existing sump and allow it to pump the water out of the basement.

The owners were very happy with the system and we are pleased they love it.

WaterGuard Installed in Lexington, SC

This basement in Lexington, SC was taking on water. Our All-Dry of the Carolinas team installed at WaterGuard. A water guard is a system that intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SumpPump where it is then flushed from the basement. WaterGuard is different because it is designed to not sit in dirt like most draining systems do. There is a special wall flange that creates space between the floor and wall allowing wall seepage to drain through the WaterGuard while keeping it away from the dirt. Since this type of drainage is separated from dirt, the chances of it clogging are nearly impossible!
