Greenwood, SC Home Receives WaterGuard After Water Inches in Through the Walls Greenwood, SC Home Receives WaterGuard After Water Inches in Through the Walls

Large, full basements aren’t exceptions to the moisture rule. Even homes that have, in the beginning, shown no signs of water intrusion often end up a casualty in the war on water. It’s unfortunate, but not uncommon. That is the problem this Greenwood, South Carolina homeowner had when they decided to give All-Dry of the Carolinas a call.

If we take a look at the ‘after’ photo, we see evidence that water has come and gone. There’s discoloration on the floor, which, by itself is not only unsightly, but it’s also evidence of a much larger problem. What would happen to the floors during a flood?

In the ‘before’ photo, we have completely solved this issue. Notice the dark outline against the floor. That’s where we have installed our patented WaterGuard system and covered it with cement. In the photo, it has yet to dry, but when it does not even the homeowner will be able to tell the difference.

Our WaterGuard sits against the wall and captures the water as it passes through the walls down to the floor. It’s inserted and then hidden from view. It doesn’t sit in the dirt and so, there is no way it could clog or be filled with debris. There are small notches (or teeth) in the WaterGuard that allow nothing but water to pass into it. Once it captures this water, the water is then directed to one of our patented sump pumps and swiftly sent away from the home.

The space has hardly been changed at all.

Job Stories From Greenwood County, SC
Wall Anchors Correct Bowing Walls in Greenwood, SC Garage

This home in Greenwood was dealing with some very serious foundation issues in their garage. The problem in this particular home was that the back wall of their garage was beginning to bow out. This is obvious when looking at the first couple of pictures below, where there are several cracks throughout the wall. This was an issue that definitely needed to be taken care of before more permanent damage was done to the home.

This was actually a pretty big job because not only were wall anchors installed in order to begin straightening out the wall, but our crew also installed our BrightWall paneling, Wall Anchor covers, and two sump pumps. The first part of the job was to install the wall anchors, which can be a lengthy process. The first thing that has to be done is to determine exactly where each wall anchor is going to be placed. Then the crew has to determine where the outside anchor plate will be installed. After the logistics are worked out, the crew begins digging. The anchor plates are placed in the holes (like the one in the third picture) where a metal rod is driven through the basement wall to connect the two anchor plates. Once all of the plates have been installed, the crew begins to tighten them, moving the wall back towards its original position.

Now that the biggest part of the job is out of the way, the crew was able to work on the rest of the project. The next thing that they did was to install the BrightWall on the walls of the garage. This can be seen in the last photo along the back wall. The wall anchor covers can also be seen in this photo, they are the grey boxes in the middle of the wall. These covers allow the wall anchors to be accessed, but provide a much better looking alternative than leaving them open to see. The last thing that the crew did was install the sump pumps (SuperSump and UltraSump), in order to pump any water that came into the crawlspace out of the area, away from the home.

WaterGuard Installed in Hendersonville, NC

When water seeps into the basement it can come down the walls and into the floor. In this case in Ninety Six, SC water was coming down the walls. Our All-Dry of the Carolinas team installed WaterGuard, which is a system that intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen safely into the SumpPump where it is then flushed from the basement.

Basement and Crawl Space waterproofing in Greenwood, SC

This home in Greenwood, SC was experiencing high moisture levels in their basement and crawl space due to water seepage. The dirt floor in the crawl space had turned to a muddy mess as a result of the flooding. Along with the crawl space taking in water, the water would seep into the finished section of the basement and began to ruin the flooring.

To solve this issue the homeowners called us at All-Dry of the Carolinas and we sent out our design specialist Alex Rogers. Alex was able to identify the problem and suggest to the homeowner a combination of waterproofing products that would protect both the crawl space and the basement.

The products that were added to the crawl space are designed to keep water from getting to the basement, but ground water comes in in mysterious ways. So to prevent the basement from being subject to water if the crawl space system fails or if it is over flooded, the basement has its own waterproofing system that will keep the interior of the home dry. Together with these products our team at All-Dry of the Carolinas were able to protect this home from water and high moisture levels.
