Crawlspace Entrance Fountain Inn, SC

Having a crawlspace door, or entrance, is a very important part of a healthy crawlspace. A lot of crawlspace entrances/doors have problems with them, whether it be that they don't shut all the way or because there are large gaps around the entrance. The product that was installed for this homeowner helps to solve all of these problems, and is called the Turtl Crawlspace Entrance.

The "before" photo shows off what the entrance to the crawlspace looked like before the Turtl was installed. As you can see, the homeowner actually had a pretty nice looking entrance, but an aesthetically pleasing entrance, does not mean it is a functional one. When these doors close, they leave huge  gaps for air to flow into the crawlspace. This allows moisture to accumulate in the crawlspace, especially during "wet" times when humidity levels are high.

The "after" picture shows a much different story than the previous picture. The solution in this photo is the Turtl, which does a much better job at keeping air out. It is hard plastic, so not only is it sturdy, but it won't absorb or let water into the crawlspace. One of the cool features that the Turtl has is that it has a built in area for a lock. While you probably won't have many people breaking into your crawlspace, this will help keep pests and children from getting into the crawlspace.

This homeowner was having problems with the humidity level in their crawlspace. They were getting quite a bit of water and moisture in the crawlspace, which was increasing the humidity level. They knew that this was a problem and wanted to make sure that they were protected against it. The work that our crew did was absolutely amazing, and really transformed the look and function of the crawlspace.

The "before" photo is a photo of the crawlspace before the CleanSpace and other products had been laid out in the crawlspace. It certainly does not look in that bad of shape, but the tricky thing about moisture and high humidity levels is that they are pretty difficult to see. Sometimes there are signs (like condensation) that are visible, but there are usually tools that must be used to figure out if the humidity level is too high.

The "after" picture shows the crawlspace after the CleanSpace liner had been installed. As you can see, this product makes a huge difference once installed. This homeowner opted to also have the CleanSpace wall installed, which takes the CleanSpace almost all of the way up the wall. This keeps even more water and moisture from getting into the crawlspace from the walls. Not only is CleanSpace functional, but it also looks extremely good!

Even crawlspaces with partially cemented floors are not immune to moisture issues if the rest of the space isn’t encapsulated properly. That’s what this Fountain Inn, South Carolina homeowner discovered before they decided to give us a call.

In the ‘before’ photo, a few things stand out here. Yes, the floor is partially cemented; however, the space surrounding the area is dirt. As shown here, the dirt flooring is covered by a plastic liner, but from what the customer told us, it wasn’t a doing a very good job.

Now, flash forward to the ‘after’ photo. The difference is stark. When we install our CleanSpace liner, we cover the entire space. If there are any supports or immovable objects, we make them part of the encapsulation. The supports here were no different. This is so that nothing—no natural gas or likewise-can creep into the crawlspace and make its way upstairs. Moisture problem: solved.

Job Stories From Fountain Inn, SC
Fairly Sized Crawlspace in Fountain Inn, SC Has CleanSpace Installed and Vents Sealed

Some crawlspaces don’t need a full encapsulation to deliver it from its moisture problems. Take this Fountain Inn, South Carolina crawlspace as an example. The majority of its floor is dirt. The air conditioning ducts are all dripping condensate and releasing moisture into the crawlspace. The vents were also open to the outside. The solution for this crawlspace was a simple one.

First and foremost, all of the vents needed to be sealed. That was the first task. Drainage Matting was placed along the floor. This matting is a polyethylene membrane. It acts as an insulator to make crawling on your hands and knees a lot easier. Over the membrane, our preferred CleanSpace liner is installed. This thick, reinforced liner is pulled tight over the floor and the walls. We wrap every pier in this liner we can avoid compromising its security. Lastly, to remove the moisture from the air, we install a dehumidifier. This product actually sucks in the moisture from the air and releases dried air into the crawlspace.

The smooth installation was all thanks to our great team here at All-Dry of the Carolinas. Daniel Lauer, our Sales Manager, went out and gave the free estimate. As soon as the proposal was approved, the dates were given and our crew went out to complete the flawless install.

Now, it’s a brand new CleanSpace with a brand new look and no more moisture.

Crawlspace in Fountain Inn, SC Has CleanSpace and Dehumidifier Installed

Nothing says “I need help” like a crawlspace with excessive moisture issues. And these issues can spring from anywhere too. They can come from the walls, or, believe it or not, they can come from the dirt. Dirt, if exposed to your crawlspace, can allow water vapor into your crawlspace and right into your home. If you ever wonder where all that water was coming from, or why the humidity in the crawlspace was so high, you have your answer. A dirt crawlspace opens the door for an assortment of problems. One problem this Fountain Inn, South Carolina homeowner experienced was a moisture issue in the wood. And, as you know, termites just love wet wood.

So, they decided they needed to get that problem squared away before it escalates. After a thorough internet search, they found us, All-Dry of the Carolinas. We were able to set up an appointment for a free estimate and have our Design Specialist at their property as soon as we could manage. He was able to comb through the entire crawlspace. While taking pictures, he was able to deduce the main source of the problem and write out a solution to solve it. The customers were all ears. They were more excited than we were to begin the work, and we can’t blame them.

Our crew installed CleanSpace, the brilliant white liner, drainage matting, sealed the vents, and brought in a Sedona dehumidifier. The installation itself only took a few days to finish. When everything was said and done, they walked away with a new and improved crawlspace. We walked away with a very satisfied customer.

Moisture is at about 23% in the wood in my crawlspace. Hot water heater steamed a few years back creating major moisture under my house. I've been told I need to have my crawl space encapsulated. I also need to have my new insulation underneath my house as the dampness has caused it to come apart and fall. Also I've been in this house since 1987, built in 1978 and it always seem to have a musty odor in the living room/hall. I'm looking for a reasonable, fair price and great financing. Thank you!

No concerns, just question. Am currently having a home built. A modular home. They have just dug footings, poured yesterday and block foundation to go in soon. What is the process for having an all dry system done? Have to wait for home to be set and up? Or easier to do in this stage? Thank you. Above cell # after 5 p.m. OR work: .
