This homeowner noticed that the ground in his crawlspace was pretty wet after he went down in the crawlspace under his home. This concerned him because he knew the danger of a damp crawlspace. This homeowner had actually used us to encapsulate a previous property that he owned, so he knew exactly who to call when he saw that this was a problem. He called us to set up an appointment and we had a Systems Design Specialist go out to propose the best solution!
The Specialist was pretty surprised with how much water was getting into this crawlspace. It wasn't the worst we had ever seen, but it was definitely going to be a problem if it wasn't taken care of soon. Our Specialist suggested that this homeowner go with a full encapsulation system including; 3-inch drain tile, CleanSpace Liner, a SaniDry dehumidifier, and a SmartSump Pump system. This entire system works extremely well together to keep water from standing in the crawlspace.
The crew started out with digging a trench around the crawlspace for the 3-inch drain tile and a hole for the SmartSump. Both of these products were then installed and the crew moved on to the drainage matting, which provides easier drainage to the sump pump. Next comes the icing on the cake, the CleanSpace liner. You may have read it before on our site, but CleanSpace is what really seals everything up and prevents moisture from getting into the crawlspace. This is even more true with a full encapsulation where the CleanSpace runs all of the way up the wall. Now the customer can rest knowing his crawlspace is all dry and his home is healthy.
