Job Stories From Oconee County, SC
Damp Crawlspace Gets Vapor Barrier Installed in Walhalla, SC

This crawlspace was very damp when our System Design Specialist first visited this home in Walhalla. Our specialist surveyed the crawlspace figured out the best and most effective solution to this homeowner's problem. In this particular situation, a lot of the water was coming from the ground and condensing onto the floor joists and ductwork.

Fortunately for this homeowner, this is a common problem that we see and our specialist knew exactly what was needed to fix this homeowner's issue. A healthy dose of CleanSpace Liner, with a few sides of EverLast door, SantaFe Edge II dehumidifier, and 3-inch drain tile and this home was ready to go! The first thing that our crew installed in the crawlspace was the SmartSump sump pump. After that was installed, they moved on the CleanSpace. This liner is a 20-millimeter thick liner that resists tearing and is installed in such a way that it won't pull off of the walls.

After the CleanSpace is laid out, the crew begins to bring in and install the other products. In this case, it was the EverLast Door and SantaFe Edge II dehumidifier. The dehumidifier pulls out any moisture that is in the air and drains it to the sump pump, which then pumps the water outside the home. The EverLast Door is a plastic door which creates an airtight seal, keeping the whole crawlspace protected and sealed in.

As always, if anyone in Walhalla has any questions or issues with your crawlspace, basement, or foundation. Please call us at 1-864-984-2308 or fill out our free estimate/contact form here!

Step-by-Step CleanSpace Encapsulation in West Union, SC Crawlspace

Some homes that we work in do not even have issues with moisture or water intrusion, which was the case for this home. The homeowner had seen and spoke with us at a trade show that we had done. They saw all of the different types of work that we offered and called us later that week! They chose to get work done from us for a couple of reasons, partially so that if any issues arose they would be covered, but more so because they wished to make their crawlspace look better.

This is absolutely something that we do for homeowner who want it to be done, although most of our jobs are out of necessity, rather than "for fun". Being that this job was just to make the crawlspace look better, this job story will have much less explanation of the products than others.

For this crawlspace, we went with a pretty basic encapsulation, including CleanSpace, drainage matting, and a SmartDrain. This is basically the CleanSpace liner (the white liner), white the drainage matting under it to help drain water off (if there is any). One of the coolest parts of the system is the SmartDrain, which is basically a reservoir for if there is a plumbing leak, with an alarm to alert the homeowner.

If you're in the West Union, South Carolina area and are having issues with your crawlspace, basement, or foundation please give us a call at 1-864-984-2308 or fill out a customer contact form on our website.

Long Creek, SC Basement Waterproofing & Sump Pump Installation

One of the most popular products that we install is our WaterGuard drainage system. This system helps to prevent water from getting to and staying on the basement floor. This is very important because if the water is not taken care of, it can evaporate and cause problems with mold and mildew. Fortunately for this homeowner, this had not happened as of when they called us, although it was starting to get there!

Upon initial inspection, our specialist saw how much water was coming through the walls of the basement, which can be seen a little in the first couple of pictures that are attached. While this could have turned into a pretty serious issue, because the homeowner took the initiative to call us, we were able to solve the issue before it got too far out of hand.

This was a relatively easy issue to take care of, and is something that we do almost daily! With a little bit of WaterGuard and one of our sump pumps, we were really able to make a difference in this basement. The process of installing the system is a relatively simple one, starting off with digging everything out. First, the location for the sump pump is dug out, then the perimeter of the basement floor is taken out a few inches. After all of the concrete has been removed and everything dug out, everything is installed! The sump pump went in its hole, then the WaterGuard drain was installed. After everything is installed correctly, and where it is supposed to go, the concrete is mixed. The concrete is then laid over the WaterGuard and around the sump pump so that the basement can look like a normal basement again (just with better drainage)!

Dehumidifier Installation in Seneca, SC

This home in Seneca, South Carolina was having some problems with high humidity levels in their crawlspace. In order to get this crawl space back into good shape, our Systems Design Specialist suggested the homeowner go for an encapsulated crawlspace. This includes having CleanSpace liner installed and usually at least a sump pump. However, the homeowner did not want to do all of that, so we allowed him to only have a SaniDry CSB dehumidifier installed, as well as the crawl space vents sealed.

The first picture shows the area in which the SaniDry dehumidifier will be installed. The fortunate part of this home was that they already had a pump, so we were able to work off of that pump. Since this was such a small job, it did not take our crew too long to knock it out. The first thing that the crew did was to seal the vents in the crawlspace. This can be seen in the first photo, above the discharge line. This prevents air and moisture from coming into the crawlspace. If you'd like to know why sealing vents helps to cut down on humidity, check out one of our blogs!

After all of the vents were sealed, our crew installed the dehumidifier, which was a very simple process. The homeowner had already had an electrician install a dedicated outlet, which took care of the power issue. Our crew took in the dehumidifier, plugged it in and it began to run! The dehumidifier can be seen in the third picture. The next and final thing to do was to put in a drain line to that pump, and run a drainage line to the outside. The drain line can be seen in the second picture and is the white PVC pipe leading to the outside. This prevents water from staying in the crawlspace and causing problems.

Push Piers Help Correct Cracked Walls of Fair Play, SC Home

The cracks in this home were beginning to get worse and worse, to the point that they could no longer be ignored by the homeowners. The homeowners began searching for answers online when they came to our website. After looking at our solutions, and noticing that we performed free estimates, they gave us a call! We were able to send out one of our Systems Design Specialists just a couple days after the initial call!

Upon inspection of the home, our Specialist realized that the best solution for this homeowner's issues were push piers. These help to support and even correct parts of the foundation that have suffered from settlement, which was the case for this home. Fortunately, this is a pretty common issue and something that we are able to help to correct quite often. The Specialist drew up the quote on site, and the customer was able to look at it right then!

The homeowner decided to get the work done, so one of our crews suited up and went out to Fair Play to correct the settlement of this home! While this certainly is not easy work, the foreman of this crew has been doing this for close to 15 years! He is a Foundation Repair Specialist and an expert in installing push piers. They begin by marking the locations and digging out an area all of the way to the foundation of the home. The push piers are then installed and attached to the foundation. The piers are driven down into the earth until a solid footing is established, then the push piers begin to lift and support the home. As you can see from the last photo, the cracks are able to close up, and the home is pushed closer to its original position.

Home in Salem, SC in Need of Foundation Repair and Crawlspace Encapsulation Receives Push Piers and CleanSpace

Many projects that we work on don't have just one issue that we must address. Our System Design Specialists usually have to figure out which products to use and how they will all fit with and around each other. The great part about most of the products that we use is that most of them are designed to be used together and have no trouble being installed together. Many times they can actually enhance the system.

This was certainly the case for this home in Salem, South Carolina. This homeowner called All-Dry of the Carolinas when they began to notice cracking on the side of the home. The cracks were pretty severe, so they wanted to have a professional look at it as soon as possible. When our System Design Specialist got out to the home he not only noticed the foundation issues, but was also worried about water intrusion in the crawlspace. This led his proposal to include both foundation repair and crawlspace encapsulation.

Fortunately for this homeowner, these were issues that our Specialist knew that we could take care of with just a few products. In order to lift and stabilize the foundation, the crew installed over 20 push piers. The the foundation had been repaired, the crew moved on to encapsulating the crawlspace. This was a full CleanSpace encapsulation that included drainage, so it was quite a bit for the crew to do. However, this is something that all of our crews are extremely comfortable with. They started out by digging out an area for the sump pump and for the drain tile. After they were installed, then came the drainage matting and the CleanSpace to seal everything up! Last but not least, the crew installed the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier and EverLast door.

This homeowner was so excited that we were able to fix both their foundation problems and water intrusion issues in the crawlspace in just a few days! If you're having a similar issue as this homeowner or issues with water in your basement, please contact us today! You can do this by either filling out a customer contact form here  or by giving us a call at 1-864-984-2308!

CleanSpace and SmartJacks in Tamassee, SC

Our All-Dry crew was able to install a series of our waterproofing technology that would take care of the water issue in the crawlspace. Our crew installed a CleanSpace liner, sump pump, and dehumidifier. When encapsulating the crawlspace with CleanSpace, it seals the area to keep moisture from creeping up from the ground and causing damage to your foundation.   A dehumidifier was placed in the crawlspace as a solution to the humidity that is produced from the pipes under your house. A SumpPump is to flush out entering water and excess water from the dehumidifier from the crawlspace. Together with all these tools, the crawlspace is completely protected from moisture.
