This homeowner called into All-Dry of the Carolinas with a mold problem. They were experiencing major moisture issues in this Hendersonville, North Carolina home. They reported large white patches along the walls and spots of water dotted throughout the space. Our Design Specialist thoroughly investigated the basement and came to the conclusion that WaterGuard needed to be installed.

Water would come through the walls and either dry or pool on the floor. What WaterGuard does to combat this issue is capture the water as it runs off of the walls and send it to a sump pump to be pushed away from the home. The WaterGuard is installed along the basement walls and is designed to sit unseen, covered with a layer of cement. It’s the one system that you won’t have to worry about clogging from soil or dirt.

If we take a look at the ‘after’ photo, we can see where the crew made the incision for the WaterGuard and covered it with cement. This is the best way to insure we prevent further water issues as well as keep the space as uncluttered as possible.

This basement in Hendersonville, SC was taking on water. Our All-Dry of the Carolinas team installed at WaterGuard. A water guard is a system that intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SumpPump where it is then flushed from the basement. WaterGuard is different because it is designed to not sit in dirt like most draining systems do. There is a special wall flange that creates space between the floor and wall allowing wall seepage to drain through the WaterGuard while keeping it away from the dirt. Since this type of drainage is separated from dirt, the chances of it clogging are nearly impossible!

This home in Hendersonville, NC was experiencing water issues in their basement. Water would seep down the walls of the basement and begin to puddle around the perimeter of the area. To solve this issue our All-Dry of the Carolinas team installed WaterGuard. The WaterGuard system is added to basements by jackhammering the perimeter. Once the cement is removed the WaterGuard System is paced into the space then recovered with cement. The WaterGuard system intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SmartSump where it is then flushed from the basement. The WaterGuard leads the water to the SuperSump where it is then flushed from the basement outside to the LawnScape outlet. All resulting in a dry basement!

Job Stories From Henderson County, NC
Mills River, NC Crawl Space Repair

This crawlspace had some very serious water intrusion, which began to cause a lot of problems for this homeowner. These pictures don't quite do it justice, but the first picture does show how much water was in the crawlspace. The first picture shows mostly water under the old liner, but you can see a few pools of water throughout the picture. The water was starting to cause mold growth under the home. Fortunately, this crawlspace did not get nearly as bad as many other crawlspaces that we have serviced.

In order to help out this customer, one of our Service Design Specialists went to this Mills River home to see how we could help! After checking out the crawlspace, our specialist came up with a plan. The plan, as with many other crawlspaces that we have done, was to install a CleanSpace liner, sump pump, and SantaFe dehumidifier.

Our crew started off my installed the sump pump, which in this customer's case was a SuperSump, which consists of a Zoeller cast-iron sump pump. These are high quality and are able to pump out over 2,000 gallons of water an hour. After installing the sump pump, the CleanSpace is laid out over the crawlspace floor. Once the liner is laid out and secured, our crew installed a brand new SantaFe Edge II dehumidifier, which helps to keep the crawlspace's humidity lower than the level that mold can grow at.

If you are in or around Mills River and are having similar problems, or problems with your basement or foundation, give All-Dry a call!

Crawlspace Encapsulation in Flat Rock, NC

This home in Flat Rock was having issues with water intrusion in the crawl space and had been having this issue for quite some time. The crawlspace actually already had a sump pump installed in their crawlspace, however, this pump was an old-fashioned pump in a bucket type of sump. This can be seen in the first photo. We will go into specifics later, but this isn't the most effective way for a sump pump to run. This home also had an old crawl space liner that was installed. This home is a great example that even with similar products, a DIY solution often doesn't work.

This home was only having minor water intrusion, but it was enough to begin causing a problem if left completely unchecked. Our Service Design Specialist made his way up to Flat Rock and began to figure out the best option for this home. As with many homes, it needed our CleanSpace Liner, a SmartSump pump, and some 3-inch drain tile (pipe). With these three products, we were able to prevent this home and its owner from having any further problems.

Our crew first started off by installing the SmartSump pump. Our sump pump is much different than the one that this owner had before. Our sump pumps have four main components that separate them from other pumps; 1. The pump itself, all of our pumps use Zoeller cast iron pumps. These are extremely durable and the best on the market, 2. The WaterWatch Alarm, this is an alarm that sounds if water rises above where the pump should turn on--which gives the homeowner enough time to address the problem, 3. The SuperLiner, which is a heavy-duty liner that allows water to flow into the liner, 4. The airtight lid, this is a very important part of the sump pump system. The lid keeps moisture from getting out through evaporation, keeping a redundant cycle.

Next, comes the 3-inch drain tile, another extremely important part of the entire system. This drain tile, which is really a plastic pipe, is what helps to direct the water to the sump pump so that it can be pumped out of the crawlspace. Last but certainly not least is the CleanSpace liner, the icing on top of the whole system! The CleanSpace keeps the crawl space separate from the ground, which is a key component of the system.

High Humidity Leads to Crawl Space Encapsulation in Zirconia, NC

This homeowner noticed that they had an unusually high humidity level in their crawl space one day. Mr. Dodd did some research on the Internet and ended up finding All-Dry of the Carolinas. He scheduled a free quote with one of our Service Design Specialists and waited for him to come out! When our Specialist Paul got to the home, he headed down to the crawlspace to see what was going on, looking for specific problems, humidity levels, or leaks.

Just as the customer mentioned, the humidity level was definitely much higher than it should have been. Paul recommended that the homeowner go with our CleanSpace liner, as well as some drainage matting, and one of our dehumidifiers. Between these few products, the crawlspace should be very protected from the moisture and increased humidity level.

Our crew started off by laying down the drainage matting, which is a soft mat that helps water to drain off of it. This goes under the CleanSpace because of its drainage abilities. It also helps to provide a little bit of cushion when crawling in the crawlspace. After that came the CleanSpace liner. As the photos show, the CleanSpace was installed all the way up the walls. This is an extra precaution that prevents even less water from getting in the crawlspace through the crawlspace walls.

If you have the similar issues to Mr. Dodd or are in the Zirconia, North Carolina area, please give us a call at 1-864-984-2308 or fill out a customer contact form here! We hope you aren't in this situation, but if you are, we want to help you solve the problem the correct way, the All-Dry way!

CleanSpace Encapsulation in Fletcher, NC

This homeowner seemed to know what they were doing, to an extent. We see a lot of these thin plastic liners under homes, but usually, they are just haphazardly laid out on the crawlspace floor. This homeowner went through enough trouble to tape the seams between the different sheets of plastic, as well as to tape the sheets high up on the wall. Even though the homeowner went through all of these efforts, it still ended with the same result....calling All-Dry of the Carolinas.

Just like Liam Neeson in "Taken", we have a particular set of skills, with a particular set of tools. We use these tools and learn these skills, because they are the best in the business. The products that we use are incredibly important, but our employees and the methods they are taught when installing different systems are just as important. For this home, our Systems Design Specialist suggested the homeowner go with a CleanSpace Encapsulation, which included; CleanSpace liner, MoldX, a dehumidifier, and SilverGlo Insulation.

When our crew arrived at the home, they began first by removing the DIY solution that the homeowner had done. After that, the SilverGlo started to be installed. SilverGlo insulation helps to insulate the crawlspace, because often times the insulation in the crawlspace is removed because it has mold on it. This was the case for this home. After that was done, the crew began to lay out the CleanSpace Liner, which is what really separates the crawlspace from the "outside". One of the most important parts of this process is sealing the CleanSpace properly. The crew then installed the dehumidifier that can be seen in the last photo, as well as apply MoldX to the floor joists above the crawlspace.

If you've tried to "Do It Yourself" with a basement or crawlspace waterproofing issue and haven't found any success, don't be afraid to contact us! You can call us at 1-864-984-2308 or contact us on our website!

Water in Hendersonville, NC Crawlspace Forces Owner to Get CleanSpace Liner Installed

This homeowner had issues with water coming into his crawlspace long before they decided to give us a call. The owner had even got another crawlspace liner installed in his crawlspace. This was one of the nicer liners that we have seen in a crawlspace, but it still was not able to keep the water from getting into the crawlspace. We sent a Systems Design Specialist out to the home to figure out the best solution.

When our Specialist went to this home, he noticed a few things. One was the amount of water in the crawlspace, it wasn't overwhelming, but it was certainly there. He also noticed the mold that was in the crawlspace. This meant that the crawlspace was going to need a "MoldX bath", as well as a CleanSpace encapsulation. The homeowner also got a SmartSump pump system and a dehumidifier to help out with their issue!

The first two things that were installed in this crawlspace were the 3-inch drain tile, and the SmartSump pump, which were both installed after the area had been dug out for each of them. The drain tile is a hard plastic pipe that runs around the perimeter of the crawlspace and helps to drain the water to the sump pump. After those were put in, the MoldX was applied to the floor joists. Once this was done, the crew began to install the CleanSpace, which is one of the main pieces of the job. The installed CleanSpace can be seen in the last few pictures. We also installed a dehumidifier, which helps to keep the relative humidity of the crawlspace down.

Basement Walls in Hendersonville, NC Receive Support with PowerBrace

Having to deal with one problem is tough, but having to deal with two major issues affecting your home is even worse. Unfortunately that was the case for this Hendersonville homeowner. They initially called in order to get an estimate on waterproofing work for their basement. However, during the inspection, our Systems Design Specialist, Mike Lee, noticed that their walls had began to bow inwards.

This called for a foundation solution, which happened to be a PowerBrace system in this case. These are Zinc coated steel beams that are installed along the wall, in order to support and potentially correct the wall over time. Mike Lee, also suggested that the homeowner have WaterGuard drain and a SuperSump system installed for the water that was leaking into the basement.

The crew began with excavating the floor by the walls, for both the WaterGuard and the PowerBraces, as well as a hole for the SuperSump that was going to be installed. The PowerBraces were installed first, installing the anchors at the bottom and top (which you can partially see in the second photo). The crew then installed the CleanSpace liner along the wall, to help water drain to the WaterGuard. Once this was done, the PowerBrace beam was installed, fastened to the top and bottom anchors, and then tightened.

After the PowerBrace system was completely installed, the SuperSump system was installed in the hole that was dug previously. Then the WaterGuard was installed along the wall to catch the water before it made its way into the basement. Once the WaterGuard was completely installed, new concrete was mixed and poured over the areas that were dug out. This makes it seem like no work was actually done, helping us leave as small as a footprint as possible.

Water Intrusion in Hendersonville, NC Basement Leads to Discovery of Foundation Issues and Installation of CarbonArmor, WaterGuard, and CleanSpace Liner

This project started off just like almost every other one, a homeowner called because of water intrusion in their basement. We set up for one of our System Design Specialists to visit the home and see exactly what we could do to prevent this home from being damaged by water intrusion. However, during this visit, the Specialist noticed that there was also some foundation issues in the early stages. He drew up a quote that included the solution to both the water intrusion issues and the informed the owner about the foundation issues.

The homeowner decided to go ahead and get both the foundation issues and water intrusion taken care of. Our Specialist stressed the importance of taking care of the foundation issues before they got even worse. In order to solve both of these issues, our Specialist had figured out the best solution, which consisted of installing CarbonArmor Strips, WaterGuard drain, and CleanSpace Liner, as well as some other minor products.

This job wasn't too much different than many others, all the crew had to do was to install the CarbonArmor first, and made sure they were dry and secure before installing the other products.  After the CarbonArmor was installed, then came the WaterGuard and CleanSpace. The WaterGuard is installed in the floor around the perimeter of the basement in order to catch the water and drain it to the sump pump. The CleanSpace was laid over the wall (and CarbonArmor strips) in order to catch any and all water that would come through the basement wall and drain it down to the WaterGuard.

High Relative Humidity Level in Hendersonville, NC Crawlspace Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation

Crawlspaces sometimes seem like more trouble than they are worth. Many homeowners may never have a problem with their crawlspace, but the ones that do can easily be stressed out by the issues stemming from water or moisture in their crawlspace. Some homeowners wait to address the issues, while others take care of it as soon as they find out about the water intrusion or high humidity levels.

This homeowner found out about the high humidity levels in the crawlspace after it had been happening for a while. However, once they found out, they began to search for someone who could help them out. During the search, the homeowner was actually told about All-Dry of the Carolinas, so they gave us a call to have one of our System Design Specialists out to the home. He was able to get out to the home and inspect the entire area and figure out what would be best to solve the issues in the basement and crawlspace. The system that our Specialist suggested included; vent covers, a condensate pump, CleanSpace, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.

The next step in the process was to have the crew come out to the home and get to work installing the system. The first thing that the crew needed to do was to remove the damp insulation, which helps to prevent mold from growing and spreading. After that the crew began working on installing the CleanSpace. the CleanSpace took the most time to install, especially in the lower areas of the crawlspace. After that was done, the last thing the crew had to put in was the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier and a condensate pump. This was an important part of the installation because the dehumidifier helps to remove excess moisture from the crawlspace and the condensate pump makes sure to pump that water out of the dehumidifier outside.

High Humidity Levels in Horse Shoe, NC Leads to CleanSpace Encapsulation

Crawlspaces are such a large and usually unused area, but they are an excellent area for storage under the right circumstances. However, the conditions under most homes aren't great for storage. Most crawl spaces are dark, damp, and dirty, all things that don't encourage people to store items there.

This homeowner in Horse Shoe, North Carolina was storing some of their belongings which were less likely to be affected by the conditions of the crawlspace. However, when this homeowner found out that they had some issues with moisture in their crawlspace, they became even more interested in our encapsulation system. They called to have one of our System Design Specialists come out to the home and see exactly what could be done for them!

Our Specialist went out to the home and after doing a free estimate, came up with a CleanSpace encapsulation system that they homeowner loved. The next step was for our crew to get out there and start the installation. The crew started by removing the insulation in the crawlspace and then moved to the digging. They had to dig out a hole for the SuperSump Plus to be installed. The next step was for the crew to start rolling out the drainage matting and then seal it all up with our CleanSpace liner. The homeowner also decided to have a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to help maintain the humidity levels of the crawlspace.

This homeowner was extremely happy with how we took care of their high moisture issues. They no longer had to worry about what they could store in the crawlspace!

Hendersonville, NC Basement Has Water Intrustion and Installs SuperSump Plus and Sedona

This Hendersonville, North Carolina homeowner was having water coming in through two places for a long time. It was creeping in through the walls and the garage door. This would happen during heavy rains and sometimes during the tiniest of showers. It didn’t matter. There would still be issues. Once the water would get in, of course, it would leave a complete mess. The floors would be left grimy and dark, and, naturally, the water would wash any dirt and debris right into any open space. It was not a particularly welcome sight. However, the same cannot be said about All-Dry of the Carolinas.

Our Design Specialist came out, inspected the entire basement, and discovered the root of the problem. Once he did that he was able to prescribe a few products to take care of it. In all, the home needed our SuperSump Plus sump pump, a Sedona dehumidifier, trench drain, and WaterGuard. All of these products work together to both remove the moisture from the air and direct the collected water away.

Mountain Home saved by CleanSpace

When some envision their dream home, they might imagine it sitting on the side of a mountain. This is the case with this home in Sky Valley, Georgia. The downside of living in the mountains though is the issue of water running downhill and entering your basement or crawlspace.  This home had the problem of high moister and water puddling in their crawlspace. Along with the water problems, it was also a physical challenge to work around because the area was covered in rocks. In the far right corner of the crawlspace there was a bolder that caused an issue placing in a drainage system. The homeowner feared that even with our waterproofing technology that the bolder would cause water to drain in a direction away from the drain. Although these problems faced our All-Dry of the Carolinas’ team they were able to tackle the issue and create a water free area under the home.

Our solution for this issue was a series of our waterproofing technology. To begin to tackle the issue our team had to first clean the space of debris and rocks. Once that was finished, our team had to figure out a solution to installing a drainage system that would work around the bolder that was unable to be moved. After careful consideration our team decided to place the drainage system at the base of the wall and bolder. We did exploratory digging to find the edge of the bolder to make sure that water draining off it would go into our drainage system. From there, drainage matting was added and then covered with CleanSpace to keep moister from coming from the soil of the crawlspace. A SmartSump was also added to the area to flush excess water from the crawlspace. Finally, a dehumidifier was added to the crawlspace to take care of the remaining issue of high moister levels in the air.

In the end of this project, the home owner’s crawlspace was water free and he was now able to enjoy his mountain home without fear of damage.

WaterGuard Installed in Hendersonville, NC

WaterGuard installed in Fletcher, NC baesment

This home in Fletch, NC was experience water dripping down their walls into the basement. When water comes into the basement in this way it can cause several issues for the home. Mold, musty smells, wall damage, and even furniture damage were the risks for this Fletch, NC basement. To solve this issue they called in our All-Dry of the Carolinas team to install WaterGuard and a SuperSump Pump. The WaterGuard system intercepts the water at the perimeter of the basement and drains it unseen and safely into the SuperSump where it is then flushed from the basement. The WaterGuard leads the water to the SuperSump where it is then flushed from the basement outside to the LawnScape outlet. All resulting in a dry basement! The SuperSump Pump is a sump pump that can pump up to 2,650 gallons an hour, has a WaterWatch system, Superliner with 96 holes for water flow, and an Airtight Lid. The SuperSump then drains all water outside through the LawnScape Outlet. Together with these products the basement will be able to remain dry and to avoid damage.

This home in Hendersonville, NC had moisture that was in their crawlspace. This moisture weakened the ground and foundation which caused the home to sink. When the home started to sink it caused cracks in the walls and bulging in the floors. Waterproofing in Hendersonville, NC

This basement in Hendersonville, NC was having water seep into it where the wall and the floor met. In the pictures that were taken during the free estimate by our design specialist, David Listovitch, you can see where the floor and bottom of the wall has water stains and dirt. This water was coming down the hill through the flower bed and against the exterior basement wall. The homeowners placed a fan in this section of the basement as an attempt to keep it dry to avoid high moisture levels and humidity.

Our crew led by crew foreman Jose Najera, installed 62 units of WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is equipped with an inspection port that allows the drainage system to be flushed and checked annually. Water was getting into the basement the worst under the stairs at the front of the house, since this was also the lowest point of the basement that is where our crew installed our SuperSump Pump. Our SuperSump pump is designed for the convenience of basements, with a bigger liner, airtight lid, and the WaterWatch Alarm System. The WaterWatch Alarm system alerts the homeowner if water reaches the top of the pump. The SuperSump flushes water from the basement through the drainage line and through the LawnScape outlet that is in the yard. Since this home is in Hendersonville, NC, which is a city that experiences freezing temperatures, IceGuard was added to the basement discharge line. This product is place at the top of the discharge line right outside of the home. In the case of an frozen water or snow clogging the line, water will back up and go out of the holes in the IceGuard, instead of backing up into the pump where it could flood the basement and damage the pump.
